4x4 MGC 4x4 Review - I MGC with this 4x4

The cube comes really fast out of the box but when you break it in it slows down a bit. i use the out of box tensions and I get some pops; the corner cutting isn’t great but it can be remedied with a more accurate turning style. The slice turns are stable and PLL parity feels nice; OLL parity is amazing , lockups and pops are out of the question in OLL parity it is just so fast and fluid. The size is 60mm which feels nice my hands are 14.5 cm so maybe my kid hands suit it better. Overall this cube is great and doesn’t have much bad things about it but pops and corner cutting are some of the worse things about this cube.

If i'm being honest-

While i understand that you aren't in a position to get many cubes, i don't think you are quite qualified to make this review as the MGC 4x4 is a cube that, if you ask many top 4x4ers, relies on heavy setup and lubrication. It is, however, a decent review.

This review is about the cube without any setup that’s how I review most cubes.

Yeah I like mine also, kind of co-main with the Aosu GTS2M

I have gotten several pops on mine as well, but only twice involving one+ of the internal pieces
(tightened it 90°+ per side and been paying more attention to my turning lol

It’s not bad, the only thing is that my MGC popped a lot in the beginning, and still does, but much, much less after setup.

Mine used to pop alot but I just changed my turning style

yes, the ONLY reason that i do not main the MGC is because of the pops

yes true. The reason i pop alot on that cube is because i only use fast cubes and i have very quick TPS. However, there have been many people that have seen issues with the MGC4, and frankly, I just do not see how people are still maining it with all its issues.

i heard bad things about the mgc from kengo james so i got the zhilong 4x4 instead

yes, that's the one I main. but i wish they made one that had the same design but more like 59mm-60mm

Something people don't mention (because it isn't super useful info) about the Zhilong Mini compared with the MGC4 is that the MGC is a lot better to put together, conpared to the Mini which is a real pain to put together, and i have only been able to do so using tape.

I can get fast TPS on the MGC, u have to be an accurate turner to do so. My mains in every event have so-so corner cutting so I had to change my turning style to be accurate. Becuase if u try to make a big corner cut on a 4x4 that’s the next 20 min of cubing out the door.
