So, about three months ago, i got two mgc elite 2x2s (one as my main, one as a warm-up for comps). However, I didn't use them too much, as I did not practice 2x2. Before this, I mained the Gan 251m Leap, which I hated because often I would make the motion for a move, and it just wouldnt actually do the move, leading to many +2s.
Out of the box, I noticed that it was very fast and had good corner cutting. This is excellent for me, as I like really fast and loose puzzles.
However, as I started using it more (trying to learn CLL and get to sub 4), I noticed that the cube took a lot of force to turn (so much so that it sort of hurt my hand sometimes), had horrible corner cutting, and had many catches.
What I've done so far in an attempt to set up the cube on both of the cubes is putting in some gan magic lube, and loosening the tensions. On the cube which I plan to use as my main, I noticed that weird slowness on the cube, and tried putting more lube in and tightening the tensions more, but that did not really work.
Then, suddenly, when I tried my other 2x2, it was much easier to turn and was much faster.
I suspect what is happening is that the 2x2s are slowing down as a result of wearing down. Does anybody know what's going on, and how to fix it to have the 2x2 be returned to its fast, out of the box, feel?
