For the cross +1, I do try to do that, although sometimes I forget to. Is it worth it to predict first pair if the cross is a lot of moves/harder than usual?
Yes, predicting first pair is always worth it. It gets a lot easier if you can do two cross colors, idk if you can but if you can't that's something to work on.

I kind of feel like my TPS isn't on par with my turning style, and I lock up a lot. I'm working to be a lighter turner, although even with that I can never align correctly. Do you have any drills that I could do to improve TPS AND Turning Accuracy?

Ok, thanks for the input. I can theoretically do yellow and white, but almost always will do worse on yellow, which is why I’m trying to improve at that.

For improving TPS, (if you mean getting faster TPS), then try 2-Gen for 3x3. I’ve done that for a while and it’s definetly helped my TPS. I went from about 3 TPS to now about 5, which still isn’t great, but it’s better! Just keep in mind that with 2-Gen, at least for me, noticeable changes only came after a couple hundred/thousand solves.

For turning accuracy, my only advice would be to use your worst cube, such as a Rubik’s brand, as then you are forced to turn accurately.

Nono, my TPS is fast already. I was wondering what I can do to match it with what I want my turning style to be.

From the videos you have sent me, your TPS for your righty turning is fine, but your lefty turning is bad. I recommend practicing LU gen turning for 30 - 45 minutes a day, everyday. Use the 2 Gen trainer on CS timer. For your turning accuracy, when you are solving, try to completely align each and every turn for every solve. Eventually this will become a habit and your turning will be better even when you're not trying.

Mains and Goals for BASC 53 - Berkeley 2023

3x3: Sub 7.5 Average (PR), Sub 6 Single (PR)
Cube: Angstrom Gan 12 M Maglev

2x2: Sub 3.5 Average
Cube: Yj Mgc

6x6: Sub 2:45 Average (I haven't practiced in a very long time so I can't really expect to get PR's)
Cube: Moyu Aoshi WRM

7x7: Sub 4:30 Average (Just like 6x6, I haven't practiced)
Cube: Yj Mgc

Megaminx: Sub 1:50 Average (PR), Sub 1:40 Single (PR)
Cube: Yj Yuhu V2 M
I know I said I would grind Mega but I stopped practicing after like 2 days lol. Still got my global down from 2:30 to around 1:45 - 1:50, but that was around a month ago and I probably average closer to 1:55 - 2:00 now, lol.

Thought I'd give an update on my 2023 Cubing Goals

My goals:
2x2 - Learn full EG, sub 2.5 official average
3x3 - Full TUL ZBLL, Sub 7 official average
4x4 - Sub 30 official average
5x5 - Sub 1:00 official average
6x6 - Sub 2:80 official average
7x7 - Sub 4:00 official average
3x3 OH - Sub 15 official average
Megaminx - Sub 2:00 official average

Where I'm at now:
2x2 - I have not learned full EG (I haven't even learned CLL), and I don't think I will this year, so that's that
3x3 - My current PR Average is 7.68, so sub 7 before 2024 is very doable. For the ZBLL, I need to relearn some of T and U and then practice them so I can recognize them well in solves, and I need to learn L. This goal is also looking pretty doable.
4x4 - Current PR is 35, and I think I can get sub 30.
5x5 - Current PR is 1:16 but its not that good for me, and as long as I get a couple of rounds and practice enough, I could get it. It's not looking too likely though.
6x6 - Not getting this, I stopped practicing 6/7 and OH in April to focus more on 3/4/5
7x7 - ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️
3x3 OH - ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️
Megaminx -
Got it

Pretty decent. I did poorly in 3x3 R1, but I was able to do well in R2 and finals. I cubedropped on solve 2 in the second round (8.58), and without that it would have been an 8.09 average. 8.29 is still decent though. And finals had a really nice 7.92 average, my fourth official sub 8 (and third time counting a 6, but sadly I got really nervous after the first two solves and I wasn't able to get PR average). I somehow double PR'd in 6x6 despite not practicing for months (same thing happened at westerns, and the comp before that, lol). Idk how that happened but I'll take it. 7x7 was terrible, I started off with a 5:08 which really messed with my mindset, and after DNFing the second solve, I decided to DNS the last one. It's nobody's fault but mine, I should have practiced. I also got finally got a mega average. 2x2 was bad. Overall fun comp, next one is in 3 weeks.
