Should I learn EG1?

Cubing Update:

I've been practicing 3/4/5 a lot recently. I usually practice for around four hours a day now, compared to two hours last school year and three hours during the summer. One hour of this is 4x4, another hour is 5x5, and the last two hours are both 3x3 (one hour of deliberate practice and one hour of solves). I've been working on my lookahead and inspection planning on 3x3, as those two are generally my weaknesses (my tps and efficiency are both pretty good, although my efficiency could use some work, I'll start working on that once I feel like my lookahead and inspection are decent). I have a couple of comps coming up soon, including one this weekend with 3x3 and 5x5 and another next weekend with 3x3 and 4x4. Hopefully I can get some decent averages.

You practice 4 hours a day with school? Wow I haven’t sat down and practiced for an hour in a looooonnnggg time

Cube: Angstrom Yj Mgc

3x3 OH: Sub 18 Average (PR), Sub 15 Single (PR)

Nice Job on 2x2 Single PR! It seems like it was an easy scramble. Do remember it, or at least can you reconstruct it?

Edit so I don't make a lot of posts: Congrats on 5x5 PR Avg and 3x3 Single!

Not too happy with my performance at this comp. I got pretty bad averages in all three rounds of 3x3, not because of bad solving, but just some bad counting solves and plus two's. However, I did break some notable PR's. I beat my 6.35 3x3 single from last comp with a 6.30 (fullstep! Video here), and I beat my 5x5 average of 1:23 from last December (lol) with a 1:16. I also got a 5 mover on 2x2, which I completely choked and got a 1.73 (2.8 TPS lol, video will be up on my channel soon). My next comp is in a week. Hopefully I can do better there.

I once read this article from Jayden that helped him out with Squan at Worlds I believe. I forgot what he called (meditated breathing I think), but basically, he started out spending 5 minutes or so just breathing. He said that you need to focus on your breathing for the entire 5 minutes. It can take months (I never really got it down lol), but when you spend a lot of time focusing on it, it’ll help you stay focused on the task at hand and you won't be as nervous.

So does a counting 10 mean it counts in your ao5 or does it mean 10:xx?
