Ok, so I've been trying to learn a bit of 4BLD over the past few days, and I think I'm pretty close.

All I need to do is learn the I and S targets for wings as well as the wings parity algorithm, and I will know how to do 4BLD.

I just got my closest ever MBLD attempt!

First cube I did was a DNF by a 2 cycle of corners, a 3 cycle of edges, and a 2 cycle of edges


Second cube I did was a DNF by 2 corner twists.

So, I tried to do an average in which I would over inspect to one look every solve, and I got this:

In the end, it got killed because I got two no bar scrambles, one of which had the worst EG-1 case imo, and I messed up on both of them.

These scrambles are ridiculous if you use EG and one look, so if you know how to do that, try these scrambles out. They are really good.

So, after practicing one looking for about a week, I've gotten a lot better at it. I can one look somewhere between 40% and 60% of the time now

I'm averaging sub 2.4 when I can one look, and can occasionally get sub 2 when I get lucky scrambles and don't mess up.

All solves one looked except for the last one.

I'm procrastinating a bit on EG right now, but I hope to finish it in a month or so.

Tomorrow I'm (most likely) going to record and try to get a sub 2 average on cam.

I don't think EG-1 should take you that long, especially since you know most of the cases. I think you could learn the rest of the cases in less than a week with a bit of effort. I think the hard part will be recalling the algs during the solves. When I learned EG-1 my times went about a second higher, and it took a while to get them back down. I don't think you will be hit as hard as I did because you one-look, even with CLL it seems, so recognition would not be much of a problem as it was for me, but recalling algs might a bit harder.

I didn't usually one look with CLL unless I had a four move or fewer layer, or maybe an easy 5 move layer.

It is almost 10PM where I am so it is too late to do it today.

So I want to take up a new event, but I don't know which event I should take up, so I will let you all decide.

So apparently, when trying to reconstruct this average, I realized that on the 5.97, I scrambled with blue on front.

I did an E1, and got a 3.27, so it doesn't change anything.

So, apparently. if you repeat the target for I FIVE TIMES, you can use that instead of learning the algorithm for S.

Because I am lazy and I don't care about speed for this event, this is what I will use for the S target.

So I know now how to do a 4x4 blindfolded!

Ok, so I just did by first attempt.

I got a 54 minute DNF.

Essentially, I realized I had hit the same piece during center memo twice while executing, and I knew I didn't start a new cycle there, so I gave up.

It wasn't the first solve of the day. I just delete entire sessions when I start doing badly.
