This will be a thread for talking about Clock.
I've seen threads like this for other events like big cubes and megaminx, but I haven't seen anything for clock so...
Feel free to discuss and ask questions!

Jokes aside, what is there to do to improve beyond just spamming solves? I average 12-13ish and am kinda plateaued and not sure where to go from here

A clock, or a timepiece, is a device used to measure and indicate time. The clock is one of the oldest human inventions, meeting the need to measure intervals of time shorter than the natural units such as the day, the lunar month, and the year.

Thanks! I would mark this with a “helpful” reaction but the forum does not have a reaction with that name

I'm assuming you use Flip so I will give you flip tips.
1.Make sure that you use QiYi
2. Make sure you can solve to 12, 6, 3, and 9 o'clock.
3. Try to flip x2 instead of y2.
4. Kind of Important: Know the first move on the back side after you flip.
5. Important: Have a pin order if you haven't already.
6. VERY Important. Know how to take advantage of skips. Instead of explaining with words (Which I am bad at) here is a video:

This covers everything for tips 2, 4, 5, and 6.

If you've plateaued, there are a few things you could do:
  1. Spam solves (not particularly helpful in this case, although I would say to make sure you're doing between 50-100 solves a day if you want to improve)
  2. Try doing this turning exercise: exercise
  3. Switch to a different method. (7simul is the best method and I'd recommend switching as soon as possible. You could also learn Sheerin.)

Yes, this is also very important but mostly applies to Flip.
If you plan to learn 7simul, you should focus on that instead of trying to implement these things first. (of course with #1 being a glaring exception)

also @Davian, as with most things, no-flip just comes down to lots of practice.
I would also like to note that I am not fully using 7simul as my main method yet, I'm still switching.

Right now I am using flip because it is fun but I have been doing really bad recently. After practicing a lot of 7-Simul and a No-Flip method I made my turning has become much worse. I keep planning my first face and the second two moves in inspection and take advantage of edge skips, corner skips, psuedo edge skips, and / corner skips but am not getting sub 8 and 9 like I used to. Should I plan more to help my TPS or just do simpler solutions so that I can focus on turning rather than efficiency? Or is there anything else I can do to help me get faster with flip? Thank you!

Try the turning exercise that I listed up above. After that you should just spam solves to improve turning accuracy

How do you do DL5+ with your pinkie? Also sorry again to cubinginatree for my initial response because I was thinking about just myself and was super confused. Thank you for your clarification and I hope you are able to learn the notation.

Pinkie moves can be difficult but make sure that your clock is fast enough and to keep practicing and pinkie moves will get better very quickly

Are there any other advanced techniques to lower the movecount in certain cases during Sheerin or 7-Simul besides the normal edge and corner skips?

Also does anyone know the math behind 7 Simul and how it works? I would like to see how it is able to be intuitive with down pin turns and figure out the skip cases to calculate and look out for in solves.
