PiCube Premium Ball Core MoYu WRM 6x6 & 7x7
According to PiCube, certain extents of modifications have been done to their premium Ball Core WRM 6x6s & 7x7s other than having Ball Core installed.

For the PiCube Premium Ball Core 6x6, they have swapped for their custom strong springs to make it more controllable, and the ball core gives it extra stability as well.

For the PiCube Premium Ball Core 7x7, they asked MoYu to send the parts out to Pi Cube Shop from MoYu’s factory before they have been factory magnetised. PiCube then installed their custom magnets to make the magnets strength more reasonable, curbing the issue of having inner layers moved by outer layers. The ball core also makes it more stable by balancing out with their custom magnets installed.
Just tried a prototype of each of them at a local comp today, will definitely get the 7x7 (6x6 isn’t that much different imo compared to mine with Pi Cube custom strong springs installed)

Even to me it’s quite a bit more expensive than my speed tuttminx tho
Paid like nearly $60 for the PiCube Premium Ball Core MoYu AoFu WRM 7x7🥲

GAN mini ui freeplay is now available on TC for just $115!

I'm waiting for the pyraminx and skewb core magnet kits.

Seems like they’ve just updated the core magnets to a ball core🤔

I just fainted reading this post
I don't mind the high price, if this Gan Mini UI Freeplay was really a great no-holds-barred smartcube. I like small cubes, esp if they are top quality, which has to mean higher costs.

Unfortunately, this Mini UI Freeplay cube is all about compromises. First, it's lacking in the smart department, since it cannot be used with any of Gan's Robots. So, you can't get the robot to repeatedly scramble this mini to the same OLL cases that you are learning and practising finger skills for. You also can't get it to solve this cube for your kids or to scramble to particular cases, if you are getting the robot and a small smart cube for someone young. You can't get it to scramble this cube so you can start solving from particular stages, e.g. to practise a particular PLL algorithm or random PLL cases when the corners are permitted already.

The charging box, power pod are the same as what's is used (designed) for the Gan 12 UI Freeplay. You have to use adapters so that this Mini cube can fit and use those boxes. And there more compromise. There are only 3 elasticity settings from what I was told, down from the almost adequate 4 settings that were available on the original Gan Mini M Pro. Apparently having 4 cogs in that tiny GES wheel may be stretching things too much, in terms of long term reliability. That's just my guess, given the "slipped disc" problems in the early products. Though fixed later, I wonder how much I could trust the base cube, with wear and tear, if the same components had been used in the new smartcube. Hopefully they are using harder plastic and a more precise molding processv this time. Even then, 3 settings for elasticity sounds iffy, for any speedcube expensive or not. Tight, Loose and Medium elasticity will be good enough to set up a top cube to your turning style? I don't know. I think Gan should consider a redesign of this for their smaller cubes. Maybe copy the QiYi M Pro, which has 11 elasticity settings and (infinite axis distance settings 😀). Sure the QiYi is larger at 55.5mm, but it should be possible to provide 5 elasticity settings in a 53mm cube, with the right design IMO. The QiYi M Pro also has a Maglev version (already for sale on aliexpress for about $11). So, Maglev is not the cause o the limitation. This may seem harsh, but considering the price, it is reasonable to expect better. No?

Even the cube pieces seem compromised. The centre cap and edge pieces are wider than the corner ones. They are in fact the same size as the regular Gan cubes at 19mm. The corner pieces measure 17mm.

Some have claimed that those wider pieces allow easier M slices, which is true to grown ups and those with bigger fingers. I myself have found even the 50mm mini YJ Zhilong quite nice, though not perfect. So, a 53mm should be fine, if all the pieces are the same size. Remember the reason for a 53mm cube is to cater to children and smaller hands. Others can just get the much better Gan 12 UI Freeplay.

There is a good reason for using this 19mm pieces - cost cutting, as the same core components are used for both Gan UI smartcubes. Same battery life, same smart features (except for the Robot part), and hence a lower price for this Mini compared to the Gan 12 UI Freeplay. If I were to buy a top smartcube, however, it would certainly be the larger one, the one that's not put together with so many known limitations/compromises.

Heard from an informant that QiYi M Pro Core Magnetic version is coming, let’s wait for that (not sure if it’s gonna be spring or maglev or both atm)
What i want: spring
What cube companies do nowadays: maglev

ShegShou YuFeng 2x2 M is now on TC. Got mine like weeks ago, and I can tell that it feels like the GAN 251 M Pro, but smaller and cheaper. However, the quality control is just bad, where there are stains of super glue on the pieces. Corner cutting is one of the best if not the best out of all 2x2s out there, but it really needs setup to be good. The stock springs are stupidly weak, and the replacement springs that came with the accessory box are even weaker. I'm the minority where I usually prefer weak elasticity, but in this case the springs are just way, way too weak.
