Bought an mgc 4 off my mate. He’s not a scammer (Ik him very well) but not the best of cubes either. He probably used it for 3 hours total max before I acquired it.

I lubed it with Adheron Lite and used it for learning how to solve it. At the start my turning speed was slow so I had no problems.

However I have a very aggressive turning style and when I try to solve the cube faster I keep locking up and popping the edges, quite often. When I loosen it I fear that I might go too far to a stage where it is too loose, and keep trying to make fine adjustments to no avail.

Any advice?

That leads to more lockups
only until you practice enough to have acbieved decent turning...
the MGC 4 is know for occasional pops...
but as you are just now learning, it's probably mostly your poor turning...

practice going slower and making sure you are making smooth even turns and you will eventually get better at still turning well at higher speeds

Yeah in summary I get that my turning is a bit inexperienced as I only have like 30 solves on this and am agressive anyway. Any tips or advice to improve anything?

Aggressive is just a nice way of saying inaccurate. Look at people who are really fast. Tymon, Max, Yiheng, and so on. Their turning is incredibly fast and yet under control. Focus on bringing yourself under control and being accurate. If you're getting anything more than extremely rare pops on any puzzle, you need to keep working on your turning.

Yeah that’s a better way of explaining it I guess. I main a Gan 11 that lets me get away with anything but the YJ MGC is nowhere close to being as forgiving
