Upcoming puzzles

V9 was a major disappointment for me. Yup, got influenced by the hype, and splurge on the standard and BC. Detest the non-adjustable and strong edge magnetic drag during solves. Needs frequent lube to temper it. At the price point, I wouldn't recommend it except to serious collectors.
Was looking forward to RS3M V2 reading that it has weaker magnets. But with the listed prices, I will give it a miss.
TV3 and YS3M are still my go to. Heck, nothing beats TV3 in my stable (sorry, no GAN to compare)
Yea the V9 has problem with insanely strong magnets, strong like the bell v1. It just stops itself during solves. Perfect if magnet strength is adjustable

MoYu & Pi Cube WeiLong WRM V9
Release date: 28/6
Limited: 1500pcs (for celebrating the sixth anniversary of Pi Cube)
Price: same as the stock WRM V9 UV BC on Pi Cube (and it’s gonna be exclusively available at Pi Cube)
Detailed specs (heard from my friend Jack Pan in Pi Cube): UV Coated exterior, non-maglev with custom springs, ball-core with light blue internals (no repelling edge to core magnets but only corner to core magnets)
This is the dream cube I’ve been talkin about, it’s essentially the WRM V9 but works a lot better
The magnets strength is a lot more reasonable compared to the original WRM V9 UV BC, tried one in May at comp

In other words if a Yuxin Teraminx cost $25 or even less to the retailers, they shouldn’t sell the exact same thing for over $50, or maybe like $60 even if sundries are included.
You're ignoring the cost of shipping. Even if a puzzle costs $25 wholesale, I guarantee the final cost to actually get it to the US is much higher.

Shipping batches of cubes together can be a lot cheaper, and should not be anywhere close to $45 per teraminx.

Thanks. I like the shape of the pieces, with all edges and corners in the centre cap area rounded. And most important of all for me, a top lightweight cube with everything in the V9 and with no maglev. I will buy it.
Just to aware that there are only 1500 of them made and its on preorder on their Chinese site already, and it’s just 3 days before it’s officially released on 28/6.

Can you provide the link to their Chinese site, assuming they will take orders from overseas?

My calculation says thisv special V9 Pi edition should be only 68g. I think that's a record for a top Moyu cube.

I see their online offers (not for the special V9, yet) on Aliexpress platform. Not sure if it is the same entity.

It would have been even prettier IMO, if the pieces have a capped design (instead of the split design). As they are now, the inside of the cube has all those other six colours mixed with the baby blue internal parts (torpedos, ball and bowler hats).

I think Piicube shop should be commended for making this edition of V9 available. It is the only V9, or any Moyu cube, that offers Ball Core but without the Maglev, just springs instead of those circular magnets and edge magnets, making the cube around 68g instead of 77g, as well as more controllable.

55mm, 68g, and more controllable speed, with none of that weird auto-homing stuff, suit me fine. I can't turn at 10 TPS and my fingers get sore easily. Thanks, All, for you info on this thread that help me find this cube. Now I won't bother buying the YS3M Ball Core just to swap springs in, which was my earlier plan. 👍 🙏🙏🙏

BTW, here is something else I found, but it may not be playable in some countries - an open-box video of this cube.https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1RP411D7j1/?spm_id_from=333.337.search-card.all.click

Their core magnets kit seems to follow the same principle: 8 magnets, presumably only for the corners and none for the edge...

I recommend the retailers not to set their net profit margin over 0.5.

Such pricing is not recommended, at least it doesn’t really make sense to me at all knowing the actual COGS behind. I mean like pricing cubes too expensive will make less people buy cubes from them and make them less money overall.

In other words if a Yuxin Teraminx cost $25 or even less to the retailers, they shouldn’t sell the exact same thing for over $50, or maybe like $60 even if sundries are included.
Ahhhh... You're under the impression that US sellers shouldn't make a profit. That explains it.
They are actually making less profit unless you guys are just rich enough to pay like more than a double of the original price. Net profit margin not being over 0.5 means not to price puzzles at more than a double of the original price. Pricing puzzles at anymore than that will make less people buy puzzles from them and make them less profit overall.
