Is this the opportunity for the Chinese pro speedcubers to break the WRs?

What do you think about singapore championships? They're sooner

yeah that too, Yusheng Du, Ruihang, Nigel Phang (lel), and many more pro cubers will join

this is going to be my first comp but idk if i should go cuz i’m still sub 45 3x3 ://

In my first comp the fastest Average was 6.9 seconds, the slowest 2:40 Minutes.

With 28 seconds I was on place 90 of 110. Sub 17 would have been needed to get into the first half.

Here in Europe the level of most comps is around this. I don't know about china.
Maybe the larger travel time and the fact that there are speedcubing academies will attract more professional players and less "beginners".

But the worst thing that can happen is that you end up last. It will be a very good experience to be at a comp, even if you are not really good.
At least it is attractive to watch when there are more better players. Maybe you will even witness a world record.
I recommend you to judge a lot, because these are the beste places to watch some good solves ;)

That will be my first comp ever too!

I think I will enroll in 2x2, 3x3, skewb, pyraminx and clock, but I'm not sure if I will do square-1 or 3x3 OH as well since the cut off for both are 30s while I average 50s on square-1 and I'm sub 45 on 3x3 OH (for reference I average 25s on 3x3). Is it possible for me to get an official ao5 for both of these events, and also should I enroll in square-1 and 3x3 OH?

I also know the intermediate method for megaminx, yau 4x4 and I can do 5x5 as well, but I'm like more than 30s behind the cut off for these events, so I'm not sure if I should attempt in these events.

Or should I just learn 3x3 blind instead as I'm kind of mid-way through learning it, that I have learnt 2x2 blind from J perm's tutorial and I can do sub 1:30 on 2x2 blind, and the cut off for 3x3 blind is 5:00, which seems to be achievable for me once I have learnt it.

I would say register for everything you can solve. Even if you don't make cutoff, at least you'll have fun :)

Then maybe I will just learn 3x3 blind as that's the only event I cannot do at the moment, and maybe I will have to remember the parity alg for square-1 again as I have pretty much forgot it.

But my question is, will I be potentially making the comp taking longer than it should be?

No. That's why a cutoff is in place; so that those that take longer don't do the full five solves and delay it.

But at least I will still get 2 official solve results if I managed to solve it under the time limit am I right?
Yes, and you might even get an average. When I did megaminx in comp, the cutoff in round 1 was 1:30, which I did not make, and therefore I got to do only 2 solves. There were many more people who didn't make cutoff though, resulting in people (including me) making finals by having a fast enough single time. In finals, there was no cutoff, so now I have a megaminx ao5 anyway.
