WCA Should Add 1x1 As An Official Event

WCA should definitely add 1x1 as an official event, because it is beginner friendly and can get new people into cubing.
1x1 solves also don't depend on hardware as much as other cubes, so a beginner can use any 1x1 to do the event without having to spend money. This would be great because most people won't spend money on something they don't know that they will enjoy/use much, and 1x1 cubes are fairly cheap and you don't have to pay a lot of money to get a very good cube to be able to participate at world-class level.

Well, idk. The 1 by 1 can be a challenge. Even the most advanced cubers have trouble solving it in under 7 minutes. Might be a bit too difficult.

1bld but the judge places the cube in a random spot on the mat and you have to find it before you stop the timer

Are you using a bandaged 1x1? If so, that’d explain your issues. The standard 1x1 is significantly easier, but it does have OLL parity

No, it is the standard 1x1. I use somewhat of a different method, though. Unlike others, I'm color neutral, so my solving involves any color, but then really all that the event would have to it would be starting and stopping the timer. However, that's stupid of course, so my 1x1 method includes in the middle of the solve, pausing to swallow the 1x1, then going to the ER to undo it, ordering a 1x1, rushing to the timer once it arrives, and then stopping the timer once it arrives before ten minutes pass.
