[Official] The world’s first +16 Penalty

Also, at the end they said it was changed to DNF
That appears to not be the case - or, at least, it has not been recorded as such yet. It's still listed as a valid solve (7x7x7; 11:01, which matches the scorecard in the video):

You will not get banned immediately. But this intent is not in good spirit.

It is fine to fool around while solving at home. But in actual competitions you should always try your best and not waste attempts. I am sorry if this sounded harsh to you, but this is the way to go.
A competition is a place to have fun. Certainly you can take them seriously, but there is no harm in joking around once in a while. Cubing isn't supposed to be strict and only for the competition.

Chris Mills got a +6 in the finals at UKC 2019.
Is this the highest accidental penalty?
I've seen that video and it's a pretty bad penalty, but there were a few people at my comp who got +6s and one person even got a +8 (albeit unintentionally). Not sure if anyone's gotten higher on accident.

Yes, but having to deal with incidents is one of the main reasons competitions fall behind schedule. Delegates have plenty of things to be doing during a competition, and attending to someone pulling a stunt they saw CubeHead suggest is just a giant waste of my time. You can't get banned from the WCA for doing this (unless it was a repeat occurrence, then WDC could get involved), but this is a clear waste of competition resources, a giant annoyance to delegates, and ends up making the group you are in run slower.

That's fair enough.

Aw I'm sad I didn't get the free cube

But gg to @Sarp from the CubeHead Discord for getting a counting plus 16

*internally is still a little sad*

EDIT: At least I got the Walkerverse premiere stream recommended at the end
