Coming to the end of 2022, yj has released their very first mgc pyraminx. Comparing with the other top pyraminxes on the market, which one stands out to be the best pyraminx in 2022?

I’ve been using the Steven’s Little for awhile now. Of the three more recent pyras I own, that one is the best in my opinion. I know that The Cubicle stopped making it due to Yuxin changing their design, though.

I have the Bell v1 and the yuxin little magic m, and I currently main the yuxin little magic m. However, I have heard good things about the weilong magnetic. Honestly, I think the yuxin little magic m feels a bit budget for me, like it has different internal colours and I don't even know if that's legal in WCA comps. BTW, what are the other 2 pyraminxes that you have and you think are not as good as the yuxin little magic m?

I have the Bell v1 and the Gan Standard. The Bell v1 is older, but it still performs incredibly well. I can get really good times with it, but it’s a bit heavy and can be prone to catching. The Gan is extremely different—very light and crunchy. Steven’s Little/Yuxin is a perfect balance for me of weight and smoothness.

What do you mean by different internal colors? The internals on mine are all yellow. I wonder if they’ve changed it in newer batches when they modified the design. When did you get yours?

My first yuxin little magic m came with green internals but unfortunately I accidentally spilled some super glue onto the surface while magnetising some other puzzles, making my first yuxin little magic m not competition legal. Hence, I bought my second yuxin little magic m.

The second first yuxin little magic m I bought has a different colour scheme, with a dull blue, dull yellow and a brighter red, and green is pretty much the same. Hilariously, the internal centres are all 4 different colours, which are blue, green, red and yellow respectively. Also, it has many scratches all over the puzzle, that I found the quality control to be not very good.

I’ve the GAN Enhanced, WeiLong M, YLM M, RS M and Bell v1. I perform better on the GAN and the YLM as they are more stable. I currently main the GAN but I feel like if my YLM is well setup or if I have the Steven’s YLM, I may main the YLM over the GAN.

Wait, people like pyraminx?
Scientifically speaking, if a person is like a pyraminx, they are shaped like a pyramid. So 'people like pyraminx' are pyramid people, and therefore ancient Egyptians. This is why I think pyraminx notation should officially change to hieroglyps.

My problem with my YLM is that although it seems that the corner cutting is good, it sometimes struggles with smaller cuts. The tips on the YLM is by far the best tho.

WHY THE HECK IS THE GAN PYRA ON TOP IT SUCKS
I completely agree. I have the bell v2 and tried the weilong and GAN pyraminx. The GAN feels fine, but I don't see myself getting sub-5 solves with it (I average around 4.2 seconds).
I'm thinking about buying the weilong, because I like the weilong I tried, even though it wasn't set up to my liking.

Edit: I'm going to a comp next week and I will ask someone if I can try their ylm pyraminx
Edit 2: I bought the ylm pyraminx and it is my main now

is it worth getting the moyu weilong pyraminx if have the yuxin little magic m pyraminx and the bell v1? Or should I get the gan enhanced or the bell v2?
I have the Gan, X-Man, and Moyu Pyraminx on my desk. I like the Moyu least of all.

The X-man is probably the best one, though I really like the Gan. The Gan catches sometimes when I do a U move. Not sure if it's the puzzle or sloppy turning technique.

imo the Gan and X-man are the best out of the 5-6 Pyraminx's I have.

I forgot about the Qiyi one, that one is pretty good too. No complaints about it.

After reading this I played with them a bunch today during breaks at work. Probably I think the X-Man is the better one. The Gan is great but it catches on U moves. Again I'm not sure if it's my pulling down when I turn or the puzzle itself, but it only seems to happen with the Gan.

The Qiyi is quite good though. I dug it out of the closet and used that one too and it's fine. The Moyu maglev is ok too, but I don't think it's any better than the others.

If I could only keep one I'd probably keep the X-Man

I have just got my new bell v2 pyra, and it is an instant new main. It has gan’s stability, weilong’s speed and ylm’s nice tips. It’s easy to setup unlike some other pyraminxes. By far the best pyra imo
