Should 3x3 be faster than Square-1?

Yes I agree with the fact that almost no one does square 1 as much as 3x3, including me, but because I practiced a bit a while back I’m somehow ranked top 2000 globally. The other thing holding back squan is the recognition for obl and pbl is harder than oll and pll, so even Max’s wr avg has pauses, but that is simply down to the recog, but tymons 3x3 average has very little pauses

PBL is true, but how is recognising White from Yellow/Black harder than recognising Yellow(any other colour) from not Yellow?

Only if your Derpy Cuber, square-1 is faster. if your anyone else, 3x3 is faster.
PB Sq1: 4.73
PB 3x3: 23.xx

It's gonna vary from person to person. Max Siauw's fastest official Square-1 average is 5.02 while his fastest official 3x3 is 6.26. Asher KM's fastest official 3x3 average is 5.90 while his fastest official Square-1 average is 8.05. Im gonna say it varies based on how much you practice each event.

Not many people practice sq1, but those who do are crazy competitive about it. Where I live, Calvin is the delegate for all the comps. Sq1 is very competitive where I live because of this, and it’s honestly fun to watch. Most of those people are in fact faster at sq1 then 3x3. Honestly, I think they take about the same time on average to solve.
