My wife recently solved the Square-1 without the assistance of any tutorials, videos, or algorithms! She's been casually noodling with it off and on for about 2 years. Her persistence to just keep trying and not look up a tutorial was pretty admirable and definitely not the way a lot of us go about solving new puzzles! The only cubing background she has is the 3x3 beginner method.

I believe the squan to be a very difficult puzzle, especially to solve intuitively without a prescribed method. She even got parity a few times and that was obviously a pretty big road block. My wife thinks I'm exaggerating how difficult this is to do and that I'm just trying to make her feel good.

Will you all back me up and throw some praise her way? I'd like to show her this thread eventually.

That's genuinely impressive. When you eventually show her this thread, let her know that it's no small feat.

That's incredible!
Especially with only 3x3 beginner's method as a background.
Even when the puzzle is in cubeshape, it behaves very differently to a 3x3 because of your ability to misalign either the top or bottom.
She wouldn't have known how 3-cycles work, which are incredibly helpful, and parity is quite a hard concept to understand in terms of what actually is causing it.
The fact that she could get through those challenges is no small feat at all!

Not in Medieval times. When Knights and Kings fought with swords and spears! Back then a boy could get married at the coming of age(which was like 17), and for girls, they were given to marriage around the age of 12.
Just a fun History fact.
Isn't that widely known that age of marriage and consent used to be way lower?(unfortunitely still is for afabs in many countries, even first world)
Also, define fun.
