My friend came up with this game. well its not a game just a way to play with your cube and learn about setup moves.

scramble ONLY by using double moves (U2, R2 etc)
then solve top and bottom with 5x5x5 centers theory. then (maybe) fix parity. then corrent the permutation of each layer.

then solve middle layer pieces with setup moves and edge cycles

try it out! I found it more fun after a little while

hahah! that was what I thought too when my friend told me.

funny thing is YOU are lost here. ok let me explain, imagine you have solved all centers on the 5x5x5 except the last two. say white and yellow.

use the exact same moves to solve this method (game, what ever) and see what I mean ;)

If ou mix it up with double turns only, solve it with double turns only, otherwise its kind of pointless, and gives a very easy solve, since everything is oriented.

Oh, you mean seperate white and yellow, so just top and bottom faces, not layers

Example scramble: F2 R2 D2 L2 R2 D2 B2 L2 U2
Seperation: R2 F2 B2 D L2 D2 L2 D2 L2 D' L2
PLL1: L' U R U' L U L' U R' U' L U2 R U2 R', U, R U' R U R U R U' R' U' R2 U
Parityfix: z2 R2 U2 R2 U2 R2 U2
PLL2: L' U R U' L U L' U R' U' L U2 R U2 R', R2 U R U R' U' R' U' R' U R' U2
R2 B D2 x R U' R U R U R U' R' U' R2 x' D2 B' R2

Lars V and I tried this last time I visited his place, it was pretty funny! It took ages to work out how to solve the H-PLL with only double turns :)

oh, so you say you have moves for solving middle layer pieces?

I havent thought of using tecnics from other methods for this. for me it usually turns out to be (F2L edge swithcher) R2 U2 R2 U2 R2 U2 before solving the last layer. usually.. else I have to think and "make something up"
also, I dont rush this at all. just for fun

I think what PJK meant was that is not a bad idea not even half of bad idea does that make any sense to you?
