[Help Thread] Should I solve and rescramble on 5x5 if I misscramble?

I don't get the question. I mean you need to solve it right?

So you mean rescramble to the same scramble? I don't even do that on 3x3 cause I can't bother checking correct scramble in the first place. Theoretically it is as hard to solve anyway. Or in other words statistically irrelevant.

Ok, btw I meant if I messed up the scramble I'd solve and scramble it correctly but I won't do that.

Just wanna see what you guys think 'cause I'm not really sure, on 3x3 I always do but 5x5 takes quite a bit for me to solve, thanks in advance for any answers! :)
A scramble is a scramble. Personally I don't even follow the scrambles on 5x5-7x7 sometimes just because it takes so long. I think it's a waste of time to try to match big cubes up with the scramble perfectly

I don't check the scramble image too closely when solving at home, but I do look briefly. If I notice a mistake on 5x5 I prefer to follow WCA regulations and redo the scramble. I tend to be more of a stickler for regulations at home than other people are though. Side note: the only events where mis-scrambles are WCA legal (at the discretion of the delegate) are Megaminx, 6x6, and 7x7.

I to worry about getting PBs on mis-scrambles; it would feel devastating to not count it, but dishonest to count it. That's why I just avoid the situation entirely by rescrambling. But at the end of the day, home solves aren't official solves, so it's good to do whatever will help you practice more efficiently or make you enjoy cubing more!
