DfR can be solve intuitively and EOpair shouldn't be to hard. It's a really cool method. (And once you learn ZBLL you can use that too!)
It's dFR(or dfR) not DfR and yeah, APB is pretty cool.

To OP:
I wouldn't recommend using Mehta as a secondary method personally because basically none of the stuff carries over to CFOP and yes, it has too many algs to be a secondary method imo.

I'd recommend ZZ or Nautilus(both 20-40 algs at the bare minimum)

That being said, choose the method which is the most fun for you because, in the end, the main goal of cubing is to just have fun. :D

My 2 cents.

I know basic roux, but I'm more looking for something outside of the big 3 methods.
Plus, not a huge fan of EO
~petrus coffin dance plays~
not very beginner friendly, but if you know CFOP, you can start out with knowing how to build blocks with pairs and the last layer
and chill working out more efficient solutions and stuff

I actually really like this one. There is enough stuff that carries over from CFOP, while still having new things. I'm probably gonna try this out.

Plus, it's a good way to practice ZBLL
For CFOP (and arguably for Petrus), ZBLL is a pretty big undertaking, and I wouldn’t say it’s not worth it in itself, but to learn it and maintain it, when time could be spent doing other things.

But shoot, go for it if you want lol (or doing the 2GLLs and convenient ones)

Yeah I really enjoy learning algs, so I figured since I'm gonna learn it eventually I might as well start now.
