Lyon Open 2007

i'm member of french yahoo group, I am checking the group every 10 minutes :D
thanks for advice!!!

Great report indeed Gilles. Very good quality photo's also!

I really liked the idea of the "human timer". Maybe we can convince Rubiks are SpeedStacks to make cloths that have the timer "build in". Although just attaching it with 1 part inside your shirt and the other on the outside also works really well. Joël and I walked/solved/timed for about 20 minutes and during that time the timer didn't move at all!

thanks you vey much gilles!!! in a future i'll upload a pop from edouard in the summer murcia open :D

Very nice, thanks for the vid. Fastest 3x3 non-lucky solve in the world. Awesome.

Yes, great solve, I have it on good authority that it was slightly lucky however... not that I am trying to be a killjoy or anything but it's nice to know the facts. Edouard told Joel who told me that while solving the final F2L pair he inserted it R' F R F' instead of the usual U R U' R' and hoped for an OLL skip (you can see when this might happen by looking at the LL edges of course). And he got the skip.

Whether this is "lucky" is a matter of opinion I guess.

Dan :)

Ah, OLL skip. I didn't know that. My fault. I take back my statement.

Even though he used a special technique to orient all edges, he got all the corners oriented as well, which is "lucky", at least from my understanding of what I just read.

By the way Dan, nice to see you here on the forum.

I couldnt get the videos to work, it said I didnt have the right codec. DO you know where I can get it, or how I could download the videos to watch in a different player?

Dan :)

I downloaded and installed it, but they still don't work :( Is there anyway IO can get hold of the actual files themselves? I'm sure its because they are trying to play in the web browser rather than on my media player.
