I am a Portuguese cuber who has been speed cubing for over 6 months. I can solve any cube that is 2x2 or higher but only solve 3x3s as I do not find much fun in bigger cubes nor 2x2s. I average slightly below 20 seconds on the 3x3 using CFOP (advanced cross - intermediate/advanced F2L - 2 look OLL - full PLL). However, I find myself having become bored with CFOP and, as a result, am considering switching to Roux. I have heard good things about Roux, such as its low move count. Out of curiosity I recently learned how to solve with Roux (Fb - Sb - 2 look CMLL - LSE) and had a lot of fun practising. After having practised for only 15 minutes, I am averaging 40 - 50 seconds though I am struggling with block building. Should I stick with CFOP that I am comfortable with but find boring or switch to roux which I am not as good at but have a lot of fun doing and see how things go?

Welcome! It honestly depends on what method is most fun for you. If you think Roux is the most fun for you, then stick with it! One thing to note is that Roux is worse on big cubes, but it seems you don't really like big cubes anyway, so that isn't an issue. In the end, cubing is about having fun, so do whatever is the most fun for you, whether it is Roux, CFOP, or any other method.

Welcome, I don't know much about Roux, but use the method you like the most or that fits your liking and turning style.

Welcome! cubing is all about fun and you don't have to be pressured to use CFOP, (lel Owen's prolly going to be mad at me lol) Roux is also fast and if you find it really fun, definitely consider it, or try the bunch of other methods and see if they're even more fun to you.

People aren't pressured to use CFOP they are pressured to use Roux because people on this forum tell them to use it.

I think that @PTCuber should use whatever is the most fun for him because in the end, he will be faster with whatever method is the most fun for him because he will be motivated to practice more.

I said consider it cause he finds it more fun than CFOP, and that's what I was trying to say lol anyway don't burn this thread with another dumb method argument.
