Due to lock down I finally decided to solve the Rubix brand Rubix cube that had been sitting on my windowsill for over a year, I used J perms tutorial to learn the beginners method. 3 hours it took me to solve it, (june 20th this year). After a few days i could solve it without any help and i wanted to get faster, i learned a few things like how to save edges, just basic things for the beginners method to get faster. While I was doing that I found out about F2L, later OLL and PLL I was really interested. I couldn't wrap my head around F2L but i eventually got it after 1 and a half weeks I learned basic F2l and bpught my first speedcube (thunderclap v3 Magnetic), my time was around 2 minutes. After 2 and a half weeks i learned 2 look OLL and PLL, my recognition was slow and my algorithms weren't muscle memory yet, As of today I have a PB of 35 seconds (L2 F2 U2 R2 F2 D2 R2 B F2 L2 F R' U B U2 L B R B R2 D) I usually average under a minute. I used cs timer to do 4 splits to work out what I average for each part of my solve, Cross 8s, F2L 27s, OLL 6s, PLL 10s.

In a month have i done well or am i improving slowly? I don't really know what the basis is for improvement as I'm obviously very new.
What should I do to improve, should I learn full PLL? Should I become Colour neutral? Or is there something else I should do as I don't know when these steps come.

Little added bonus if anyone has actually read this far down I learned how to solve a pyraminx using LBL and got a PB of 9.42 after 3 days of having it so that's cool.

TL;DR had a cube for a month PB 35s. Average just under a minute, have I improved fast or slow, How do I improve?

I would say that you're doing well. But don't worry about whether you're improving quickly or slowly. Instead worry about whether or not you're improving AT ALL.

I don't really know what the basis is for improvement as I'm obviously very new.
At this point just practice and get familiar with the f2l cases and drill algs for the last layer

should I learn full PLL?
Most people recommend learning full PLL when you average around 30 seconds, but if you feel ready earlier than that, then go ahead!

Should I become Colour neutral?

Absolutely. At you're level, it should take 2 days max to become fully adjusted to Color neutrality. Don't wait like I did until I averaged sub 9 seconds (it took me 2 1/2 months)

Little added bonus if anyone has actually read this far down I learned how to solve a pyraminx using LBL and got a PB of 9.42 after 3 days of having it so that's cool.

Awesome! I would also recommend getting into other events such as 2x2, 4x4, megaminx, and square-1, as they add a lot of variety into cubing and can make it much more enjoyable, and less like you're doing the same thing over and over again.

Colour neutral, drill algs, try other events, got it. Much appreciated.

I guess I'll use this to document my progress, I'm working today so I only had time to do an ao12 for each side (except white) and I done much better than I expected, my orange was quite good. I also feel like my inspection time is improving through this as I can almost fully plan my cross. Definitely won't take long to be colour neutral

I would say that, if you can solve with CFOP, also learn how to solve with Roux, ZZ and Petrus. Even if you don't switch, they both give you different perspectives on how the cube works and will help CFOP. You also already know all the algorithms you need as you can solve the cube. In terms of CFOP exclusive improvement, switch to CN now and start learning PLL.

Tutorial for:
Roux -
ZZ - https://sites.google.com/view/zzmethod/
Petrus - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLr6t1_t_B9Nn3qwzXW4-sW7MNm-I38JlM

Don't be afraid to switch if you really enjoy any of the methods. Similarly, don't switch if you don't enjoy them.

I think that learning fingertricks woudl really improve your time. It will definitely help your f2l and help you drill your PLL algorithms. And your OLL average is very fast. I'm sub 20 and I average around 6 for a dot case.

Forgot this existed, but I'd say I'm almost fully colour neutral.
My PB is now 26.43 (Green cross) this was 2 days ago
My ao5 PB is 32.9
My ao12 PB is 34.19
As of my last ao25 which I did timing each step. (Cross 5.53s), (F2L 20.54s), (OLL 5.46s) and (PLL 7.74s)

What specific area needs the most improvement, I am still 4 look last layer, however I did learn the A perms out of sheer boredom, I also kind of know the R perm, because I tried to learn 3x3 blind which is difficult and I still can't do.
