Hey guys.
Just wonder if anyone else gets sore fingers from cubing.
I generally do around 80-100 solves a day and I've been doing so for the last 8 months.
I've noticed that my left middle finger and my left pinky finger is getting sore and weak.
Does this happen to anyone? I heard Lucas etter has arthritis in his fingers but I don't know if this is related to cubing.

Yeah, I think many people do get sore fingers because of constant practice and other things, my right ring finger, my right middle finger and my right index finger is kinda sore because of 3x3 sessions and my left-hand fingers are paining because of OH.

edit: I was wrong xD I think this only happens to me

Would you consider 80-100 solves a day a lot though?

I wouldn’t worry too much. I used to do hundreds of solves a day and my hands are fine. Usually takes about 500 in a day to make my hands tired now. I’ve been cubing around 5 or 6 years. If you continue to have problems take breaks, stretch your hands, wrists, and fingers, and ice them afterwards for 10-15 min. This will help reduce inflammation and prevent injury.

I had this same problem, went to the doctor and was told to rest for a week.
If that doesn't alleviate the problem, consider all the things in your life that you use your hands for (even things like texting and stuff) as for a solution like I said take a week break. BUT YOU CAN'T EVEN TOUCH A CUBE BECAUSE THAT WILL RESTART THE TIMER. My doctor said to sleep with arms unfolded and not to lay on them or have them close to your body for extended periods of time.

It's happens during a person's first year of cubing as your hands are still adjusting from the fast turning and fingertricks.I am cubing for 4 years now and I do around 300-400 solves a day and I never get sore hands. But when I go to a comp and cube all day my hands stay sore for 2-3 days so just take breaks in between solves and give your hands some rest.Your hands should get to in 5-6 months and this issue should get solved. If it doesn't go see a doctor

Been cubing for almost two years, also noticed soreness in my fingers. I found a few things do help, like taking breaks or ice/heat on the knuckles. Also some ergonomic things add up, like being in a comfortable seat and not leaning too much on your elbows. But what helped me most is finding a lighter-turning cube, tuned at a lower spring tension. The heavier, blocky cubes have more resistance that are tougher on the fingers. Besides, does one really need an excuse to shop for more cubes?
