FSC => Fastest solve challenge

You got X amount of time to find and practice a solution to a scramble and the fastest execution wins.

You can use Fewest move techniques but sometimes a more ergonomic and finger-tricky solution is better.

For the solution you can only use the resources you have on FMC event (pen, paper, stickers, etc, no electronic devices... algs and techniques must be on your head)

This could be on a real comp or forum comp

for forum comps a video should be provided

It would be cool if this were included in a normal comp and after the time expired, everyone get a chance to make the fastest execution as a normal solve (15sec inspection). The fastest and most flawless execution would win. I think it would be epic

What you guys think?

Isn’t this speed BLD, but modified?

Sounds kinda cool. I'd take part in a forum mini-comp with this. I'd say an hour is long enough for a time limit.

Just to clarify, I'd have X amount of time to find and practice a solution for a scramble. I can turn the cube, and write out my solution. Then when the time limit is up, I'd have one try to solve the scramble as quickly as possible. Correct?

Yes

I think it should take 2 hours, since there are more elements to cover for the solve, especially ergonomics. Unlike FMC, you need to find fast, fingertrickable solutions, as well as a low move count to get a good FSC solve.

I think that you should get as many attempts to solve it as you like, but it must remain within the time window. Once you decide you're content with your solution, you can start timing your solves, and at the end of the hour (or other amount of time), your fastest time is used.
If you only get one attempt, then a bad lock-up, pop, or slip-up would completely wreck your attempt, and you'd end up having essentially wasted the last hour of your life.
Alternatively, after the hour of solution-finding is up, you get x amount of attempts to get the fastest solve using your solution that you can.

So during that hour(or other time limit) you can time your solves and you take the best one and that's your result?

I think you should be able to start timing solves in the last 10 minutes maybe.

I think you should be allowed to scramble your cube in any orientation, not just the 'speedsolve' white-top, green-front.
This borrows from FMC , where orientation is irrelevant.
