Hi Everyone, I am 35+ Yrs old and new to speed cubing. Currently I solve a 3X3 using beginners method in approximately 1:30 but working towards learning CFOP. Earlier I never cared for speed but now since its speed cubing for me , I would like to get your advice on certain issues I am facing .
Some times my eyes get fixated on certain cases which are very easy other wise .For example while solving U perm with the solved edge behind, I have to pause to see if the edges need to move clockwise or anticlockwise and this pause can be 3-4 seconds long .
The other thing is that I have to visualize the clock on the face to perform moves like B, B' ,D,D' L,L' while for R,R' U U' I do not have to think .
I like to execute algs involving M slice . I have gained good speed in H and Z perms(M' and M2 ) but when the algs involve M move like U Perm, its not getting into my muscle memory,I need to change grip and have to pause too.
I would like to hear your views and advice on this matter. I am practicing the standard algs recommended by Jperm in his channel but Do you think it will work for me one day or Am I just beating the bush and should rather go for algs involving U and R moves only?
Sorry for being descriptive but I am of the opinion that "Well begun is half done" , so I want to teach myself the correct way rather than learning from mistakes .Moreover unlearning curve at this age is also difficult
Thanks
