Hi everyone, I just got my Shenshou kilominx and was disappointed by the lackluster reverse corner cutting. I quickly realized that the corners catched on the center caps and not on the center pieces per se. So I took them all out (not just the small pieces, but also the big plastic "ring" that housed it) and now it amazing. It reverses line to line almost with no effort. I guess Shengshou covered the screws for aesthetic reasons but they didn't really think this through, did they . I'm sorry if anyone had already come up with this, which I guess it's very likely as it's a very simple mod, but I searched and apparently found nothing.

I did this too (many months ago), but I didn't really bother documenting it because I thought it didn't change the turning much. Line-to-line takes a lot of force on mine currently; I'll try loosening the tensions.

did you take out the big pieces too?
Of course.

E: Loosened by about a full turn on every face (to the point that corners can now be twisted with some force), and it still seems like line-to-line takes a fair amount of effort. It's probably still better with the caps off than with the caps on, but I'm too lazy to find the caps and put them back in the puzzle to test.

Interesting work. This would be more aesthetic on a black plastic puzzle, and the screws could be successfully painted black (satin or gloss).
