Hi

I am (as you can see) a zz user and i have been cubing for just under 3.5 years and have been using zz for almost 2.5 years. I enjoy all puzzles (although skewb is meh), my favourites being 2x2 through 5x5, squan and mega, and I also enjoy a good game of cricket, baseball and rugby. I'm aiming for UK NR for OH sometime in the future and it would be nice to be the first competitive zz solver.

So yeah. See you around.

For what, OH? I average low 20s and getting faster, but i still think it will take at least until the end of the year to get competitive, but that's why goals are set.:)

Welcome to the forum! As Joe suggested, we're also aiming for UK NR/national champion, but haven't come close yet.

There have been competitive ZZ solvers in the past: Phil Yu was 2nd in the world for OH back in 2012. But there haven't been many for a while though, and definitely none in the UK, so I look forward to seeing your progress. :)

Thanks! And it’s quite nice to have some competition to spur me on. I definitely need the motivation.:)

Ayyy, another ZZ user!
Welcome to the forums!

As others have said, there have been/are plenty of competitive ZZers, and, iirc, there are three sub10 zzers right now, Andy Huang, Simon Kalofer, and Hyeon kyo kyoung.

I see that you are interested in megaminx, one of my favorite events. If you're interested in using ZZ on megaminx, I think my method is pretty good at doing it, although other CFOP-based methods are also good.

ZZ FTW!:D Yeah, my goal is to (maybe one day) be faster than those three, and I’ve known about spike for a while, just never put in the time to learn it but I love the concept and once I’ve gotten rid of the mass of homework for over the holiday, I’ll try and learn it.

Also, thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

You are welcomed.
BTW, do you participate in any blindsolving event?
What are your PB's in various events that you take part in, and best of luck for your future cubing plans!!!
Thanks! And yeah, I do bld sometimes. I have a PB of 1:18.816, and it's something i want to do more. I can theoretically do 4 and 5 bld, but I've never had a success.

All my PBs single/ao5:
3x3-7.52/9.54
2x2-0.62/2.45
4x4-43.844/49.02
5x5-1:34.73/1:40.76
6x6-3:33.46/3:58.38
7x7-7:17.21/7:34.74 (I know I'm slow)
OH-12.74/17.19
3BLD-1:18.81/Dunno
Feet-1:31.56/2:01.75
FMC-34
Square-1-13.12/17.73
Megaminx-1:41.xx/sub 2, but I normally do it at school using my watch, so I'm not sure
Pyraminx-4.53/7.55
Skewb-3.89/8.14
Clock-19.64/26.09
Multi-2/3 in about 25 mins.

I think that's all.
