Big cube turning speed (3x3 stage)

I have a ES 5x5 and my turning speed on the 3x3 stage is horrible. Cross is really bad 5s compared to the usual 2s. F2L is OK, at least sub-20. But LL is horrible. It takes me about 9s to do the G perm rather than 2s on a 3x3. The layers always misalign and everything locks up. What can I do to speed up the execution?

you can practice ;-) do something like average of 50 or 100 3x3 done on the 5x5. Also you can vary between trying to rush algorithms and to try to do it smooth.

RUL 3-gen COLL. RU 2-gen MGLS. Relearn RUL 3-gen PLLs. Lots of things you can do.
