So there were no 2bld threads so I made this .
This thread is for discussion about 2bld pb and methods and techniques.
Also post uowr here if you want .
And 2bld should be a wca event.

2BLD would be only about how fast you can one look including inspection. And the event would be so fast that procedural things like lifting the cover and donning the blindfold would become more significant. It would be almost impossible to ensure sight is blocked by the judge before execution is already complete, making it difficult to judge fairly too. And results would still be very skewed by lucky scrambles.

IMHO it's not a good candidate for a WCA event.

ya but still it still shows skill and its a fun event yea the judge thing might be a problem

To do 2bld very fast you dont need any technique used in bld events (like 3bld, mbld or big bld). It's not a real blind event.
you need to know like 50+ algs and be good at onelooking

The people who are good at 2BLD will be the exact same people who are good at 2x2. This is not necessarily the same for all the other BLD events.

Also you say 50+ like it's a lot when CFOP uses much more than 50 and I must know at least 150 despite using Roux and never really trying to learn an alg set other than CMLL.

I guess there is a reason for that.

Method and techniques is one looking and learning AUFs too.So basically 2x2 techniques.

2BLD should never be an event. It is a terrible event. Basically 2x2 without inspection. Using a BLD method to solve 2x2 is terrible.

No more skill than anyone who can one-look 2x2. 2BLD will never be a thing since it is just 2x2 effectively. It would be completely indistinguishable from 2x2 at the top level of both. One just has to lift a cover and pull a blindfold down. Practicing 2BLD could be useful to test your ability to one look no more. The only interesting time for that is the "memo"(inspection really) time.

I don't think 2BLD should be an event but 2MBLD would be funny. Memorizing 200 cubes and then solving them all blindfolded one after another... Think about the huge pile of cubes! Each competitor would have a huge box of cubes, what a nightmare! And expensive too.

that would be hard and impressive I tried 2 2x2s and it was hard that would be intresting

Edit: bear in mind that solving methods play no part in the introduction of a new event.
2BLD adds nothing new at all. Just an extra event for fast 2x2ers to win. I know big cubes are that distinct from each other but with 2BLD your add, taking the cube cover off and pulling down a blindfold. Also it is also incredibly trival. 6BLD should be added before 2BLD and has whole other issues (time mainly).
