Making magnetic cubes for cheap!

Have you had any big cubes apart to see how magnets fit? I have 4x2mm magnets, and I can't fit them in my Aofu or Aoshi. Are there any modern 6x6 or 7x7 cubes that have enough room inside the pieces to easily put magnets in?
There's a lot of variety out there. You can use smaller, thicker magnets and there's higher grades available too. Don't forget than on even numbered cubes you'll be using twice as many too. I think that you'll get a similar effect from 2 lots of N50 3mm x 1mm as 1 lot of your magnets.

Thanks! I was kind of hoping to figure out how to trade for a cube that would work, but you're probably right that I'm better off to trade magnets.

The way I had it figured even cubes needed doubled magnets along the inner slice, but not anywhere else: 2 and 3 take 48, 4 and 5 take 96, 6 and 7 take 144 . . . 12x12 and 13x13 would take 288, and a fully magnetized teraminx or Elite Kilominx would be 360 magnets. :-)

Do you think 2x1mm would work?
I got 3x1 n50s, and I'm doubling them up to make 3x2s. I'm far from done, but if anything it seems like they might not be strong enough. The issue is on the inner wings: the male side of the connections has plenty of room, but the female side the space where you can put the magnets is about 3.5mm wide. 2x1 would fit, but would likely be too weak.
