2017 Speedcubing Predictions

This is my 4th thread with New Year's predictions. Time flies :D

Let's share with eachother about your predictions for the upcoming year.

- Antonie Peterakis will get 2x2 average WR
- Feliks will improve WR single in 3x3 twice
- Seung will crash both WRs in 4x4
- Maskow make a comeback with 48 points in MBLD
- First sub30 single in Megaminx. Juan, I believe in you :D
- Moyu and MFG will release a new Clock. This will result in a sub5 average by Wojciech and new WR single by Evan Liu
- Three people will get sub9 SQ-1 average.

What else? I think it will be the most succesful year for Feliks, since he has a year off at the university. It will be also quite significant year for the whole community, because Rubik's Brand is finally doing something good :D Speedcubing will flourish.
 
I just want to see what max park, kaijun lin and maskow do this year.

Some are stretching it a bit but I have faith :)

Max Park will get more well know, and Maskow will break the Multi-BLD WR. There will be more competitions, and a lot of records will be broken at US Nats this year.
 
Gans will get a huge budget from Gans and produce awesome 333s and a great 222
Rubiks also partners with moyu or qiyi.
The cubicle.us will start manufacturing cubes or partner with a Chinese manufacturer.
The top 3x3 would be either the cubicle.us or gans (personal preferance) and the rest of the market will be dominated by the cubicle.us.
I feel this is gonna be a year of innovation in hardware

Totally do not agree. I actually think that the fact that Rubik's is cooperating with Gans will be the beginning of the end for companies like Moyu and MFG. Basically Gans products will be commercially available in stores and they will be selling millions of cubes. Take into consideration the amount of dedication that Gans puts in his inventions :) And the fact that their budget will drastically enlarge. The future for them is bright :D

MBLD - 44 points (Not-Maskow will get a 43/44 in 58:44 WR, then Maskow will get 46/48 in 57:45)
 
k these are less crazy than my 2020 predictions but here they are

3x3: Feliks will finally overcome his comp nerves and will get a sub 6 WR avg
4x4: WR in both single and average
5x5: no change
6x6, 7x7: new WRs by Feliks

3BLD: WR mean will probably be broken.
NAR single wil definitely be broken by February (by Noah Arthurs, Ishaan Agrawal, Mark Boyanowski, or someone)
4BLD: probably no change
5BLD: sub 4:30 by Roman
multi: 47/50 Maskow
FMC: 23 mean by some European guy

squan: 100% sure someone will break the WR average.
OH: sub 10 average
skewb: sub 1 lol
pyra: sub 1 lol

3x3: Lucas, Patrick, Max join sub-7 club, Bill gets NAR
WR avg is improved to 6.26, single is beaten exactly once with a 4.54

4x4: WR avg is 24.09, single is 20.66

5x5: a new Qiyi comes out and is amazing
Max Park improves NARs, Feliks gets 48.24 average

6x6: 1:25 WR single, 1:29 mean (Faz average, Faz or Kevin single )

7x7: Feliks 2:19 WR mean, 2:11 single

2x2: WR single stays the same, NAR single is broken, average becomes 1.42

3BLD: Ishaan gets NARs, Jake Klassen gets a 27 NR on first official success
WR mean becomes 23.89 and single stays same

FMC: one more person will get a 19, WR mean will be 23.67

OH: single stays the same and average goes sub-10

feet: NAR mean by Raymond Goslow
nothing crazy happens with WRs

mega: Juan Pablo improves his average but so does Yu Da Hyun

pyra: average will stay the same but Drew will get close a few times
so not much interesting happens basically

clock: single stays the same, average improved to 5.20

square-1: everybody learns CSP
WR single becomes 6.44, WR average becomes 8.78

skewb: NAR average by me
WR single stays the same, 2.52 WR avg by Rzewuski

4BLD: WR stays the same but Kaijun gets more sub-2s like they're nothing
I try improving to get NAR back but fail and end up only beating NR

5BLD: SUB-5 BY ME but not WR :/ but then I get a sub-6 mean

MBLD: Mark gets 40/42 NAR
WR is improved finally by someone

3x3 sub 7 avgs by: Bill Wang, Max Park, Lucas. Feliks keeps the WR avg.
3x3 single 4.5
3x3 OH Feliks regains WR.

3x3 Roux. Alex, Kian, and Guroux continue in the roux fantasy world :p
 
2x2- same single but sub 1.4 avg
3x3- single can improve but not a lot expectations for avg since feliks took a few years to break it.
4x4- sub 20 single, feliks gets the avg back
5x5- sub 40 single
6 and 7- feliks world champ with a few wrs
Mega- sub 30 single
Feet sub 20 single ( come on Jakub Kipa)
Pyra- Drew sub 2 avg

Kilominx should be added! :D

The US picks up its Feet game as RG/DG gets NAR(s), AC and RS start practicing seriously (?) again now that they have more competition
Feet is announced as an event again for Nats 2018 due to the massive influx of participation all over the country
Feet gets changed to ao5
Henri will be WC 2017
WRs: 19.74/26.39

ZZ goes sub-9/sub-6
Roux goes sub-7/sub-5

Over 10 people know full ZBLL
Over 50 people know full/close to full ZZ-CT
Chris gets his sub-10 single and retires from speedcubing, but really still has to catch up on valk M orders from christmas
