What is the most important solve in the ao5?

If the 4th solve guarantees that you get a satisfying average, that could be considered the most important, but usually there really isn't a distinction between important/unimportant solves

I think it would be the first solve.

The pressure of having to make up for a bad solve feels insurmountable sometimes.
Having a good start is key for people with shaky emotional foundations, like myself.

The number doesn't matter to me. What matters is my worst and best solves because since those are taken out, all you have to do is get at least 3 decent solves and you'll get the avg you want.

The second. I agree with Chris that a good start is important. If you get a bad first solve, then you can still come back. If the first two are bad then you've sealed your fate.

If the first solve is good, and the second is better, then you've got a trend going and your first solve now counts :)

The second solve is key I think.

The first two are important to build confidence IMO, 6/7 of my official sub-10 averages had a sub-10 single within the first two solves.

The last solve is also important because it can take the average to 'the next level'. There are certain instances were I regret doing badly on my 5th solve because I could have done so much better. Example: Canadian Open 2015, had my last solve been a 9.4x I would have finished 2nd, but I screwed up an overly-advanced x-cross and got a 15.xy and I finished 3rd.

The most important solve can be looked at from different perspectives, so I'm not sure. And from what I just wrote I guess my stance is that all solves are important. :p

Woah!!! I was searching through watched threads and I found this! Thanks for all the replies, I actually have a comp tomorrow. From reading the replies I learned the 6th solve is most important:D
