Getting at those Vcube screws, perhaps without decimating the cube?

I just got a V5 for christmas, and it moves wonderfly of course, but it really has a ton of resistance. I tried to get the caps off but found myself scraping and scarring the plastic, and the stickers a little bit. Anyone have a more cube friendly method?

Does your v5 have bumps on its corners? If so, sand those down and it will be a little less resistant. You also need to break it in since it's new. Lube it, also.

(This guy on youtube, DoctorDraco, said that the V-cube company is using different plastic than before.)

lol, I'd like to break in my cube, but it came lubed, and not very well I think. I'm going to buy some shock oil and put that in there, just add it in. I'll look at the corners right now....oh another thing, dissasembling? I really don't have a clue. But don't worry about that i'll look it up, but I'd like to know if the shock oil thing is fine. Edit:
Just broke into it, and after watching this others guys cube, and breaking into mine and such, I can safely say the lube job was just crummy. I'm going to add that shock oil in and it should be perfect.
