Yay! I just got sub 30 (28.xx) avg. on saturday! I don't know how, because I had about a 32 second avg. the day before. I just went on my computer, and the first solve I did was my new PR (21.49 I think). I continued to solve, and I didn't get one time above 30 seconds! It was about a 5 second decrease in time in a day! Has this happened to anyone else?

Since this thread is made anyway,
Congratulations!! The exact same thing happened to me earlier this year o.0
I was like sub 35 average, when one day my friend time me on the bus and i got 28 sec average. ( i didn't use computer timers that time)

I got a 34 average on Saturday. I forgot to tell you at school.
Now what I'm doing is looking for your cube.
Which I finding in my house.
There is no lube whatever you call that. IN dollar store, the home depot,( Which you said that there fake), staples, office depot, my house. I can't even find the place.

I tell my aunt that (what you said at the store) is a suko cube. (Sorry for misspell on it.

i just did an avg like a minute ago and my average is 30.06, IM SO CLOSE TO SUB 30, ive never used a diy or silicone before and im gettin that for xmas, ill improve ... also a 22.85 PB today, but it wasnt part of that avg, non lucky

I wonder why this happens, especially because I didn't learn any new algs. I mean, a 1 second drop is reasonable, but 4-5 seconds? I would think speed was increased in something like a learning curve, slowly but steadily.

That happens, but you get back to your previous average again, but then steadily decrease your times.

I'm actually kind of tired of seeing these threads. "OMG, my times dropped by x seconds overnight. Has this happened to anyone else?" gets really old really fast. So you dropped a few seconds, no need to to tell everyone else. Plus, there's an accomplishment thread. Guess what goes in there.

Really? Really? Are you gonna ask someone else to do something that you can do? It doesn't take any longer to load than any other thread.
And it shouldn't. Unless you are loading more posts per page or someone made a post with lots of images, it will load as fast as any other post.

I am moving this to 'Beginners Central' for now, so if anyone wants to talk about sudden drops, they can here.

Sadly, that happened to me.
A week ago I'd been going 44, 43, 42.5, and then (a few days ago) I got a 36.3 Average. I was pretty excited, because it was 6+ second drop, and also Sub-40, but I have been fluctuating between 36 and 38 since then. Hopefully I'll see some improvement by January 1st as my goal was consistent sub 35 Averages by 2009.
