woooo commutators!!!!

id like to know how many cubers out there know how to use (make) commutators and for what sizes cubes and lastly what type of commutators. thats about it.

if you use m2 i think that counts somewhat.

and any commutators or intuitive concepts would be fun to talk about, id like to think that falloing certain guidlines the human mind can be really efficiant at finding solutions that are if not near optimal.

Why not? M2 is commutator. Setup,M2, Reverse setup, M2 for a whole 3 cycle, Next cycle happens to be M2, Setup, M2 Reverse setup... So basically every Extra M2 gets canceled out to make it appear to be a 2cycle method. Ingenious idea.

So? if someone knows the A perm do they automatically have an understanding of commutators? While the method itself uses commutators, it does not require you to understand them.

But M2 does require an understanding of commutators. You know that you are actually setting up a piece to BU, M2, then reversing the setup. I don't know of anyone who actually just blindly (pun?) memorized the algs. That would take ages if they don't understand the idea. If they understand, it takes less than an hour.

No it doesn't. Neither does M2. Neither does either require understanding commutators. If at all, they demonstrate conjugation.
