Is the M2UMU2M'UM2 version of U perm faster? [3X3]

I've been using (RU')(RU)(RU)(RU')(R'U')R2. I can get it down to about 1.5s. Then I came across M2UMU2M'UM2. The second one has fewer moves but I find it hard to coordinate my fingers.

I want to know if anyone uses the M version as their main, and which fingers they use for each of the M, M' and M2 moves. Also in general, which one is faster?

Execution:

It's personal preference what U-perm(s) one uses. You should ultimately know a few algorithms for the same case imo :)

I use the <M, U> version, and find it much faster. This is how I execute it:

M2: left pinky, right ring. Both pushing BD to DF.
U: right index. Pushing BUR to RUF.
M: right ring. Pulling FD to DB.
U2: left index, left middle. Both pushing BUL to LUF.
M': right ring. Push BD to DF.
U: right index. Pushing BUR to RUF.
M2: left pinky, right ring. Both pushing BD to DF.

Execution speed for me is pretty much the same for RU and MU ~.7-.8. But since I use my left hand for the M moves, I can start the execution for the MU one without moving my hands so I opt for that most of the time. The way I do the RU ones require me to lift my hand off the cube for a bit, which makes it slower overall since the execution for both MU and RU is about the same. I see myself using the RU sometimes when I see a cancellation from OLL, though.

i prefer the <MU> ones, because then if i know i'm gonna end up with an EPLL i know i'll be doing a <MU> alg and i can prepare my grip for that ^^

After learning COLL, I considered switching to MU U-perms for this exact reason.

But by that point, I was already migrating towards the RU Z-perm. For 2H. I have a lot of bad habits.

RUs are easier to cancel into after using COLL or stuff since you don't have to change your grip style for MU, but MUs for me are MUCH faster than RUs, I can sub .9 the fronts and backs, but can barely sub 1.2 the RUs fronts and backs

Thats not fair, Alex and you both use Roux. :p

I haven't bothered learning the MU U-perms but If they are faster i"m sure it Increases the likelihood of being off by a slice move.... plus I don't like it when There are M moves (As in M2 and M' are fine but M is awful for me). Plus I'm into big cubes.

my u-perms arent that good. 0.7 is the best I've gotten.
