Well, he has told me before that he hasn't read the regs. So idk. He might not know if he's okay or not so doesn't want to risk it. And he doesn't really follow speedsolving, so I doubt he'll see posts here talking about how a misscramble is okay.
You know Lucas, right? Would you be up for sending him a PM with a synopsis of what's going on?
  • If you overinspected and the judge didn't tell you "go," your solve will not be DNFed, as decided in regard to Chris Olson's 1.71 2x2 average.
  • If you recieved a misscramble that was accidental, that you didn't know about at the time of the solve, and that didn't clearly give you an advantage, your solve will not be DNFed, as decided in regard to Feliks Zemdegs' 6.88 OH single.
  • If you recieved the same scramble twice, the second solve of that scramble will be DNFed. It clearly gives you an advantage to have seen the scramble before and you're doing the wrong thing by not posting the video and allowing an average that includes an illegitimate solve to stand.
  • If you had a solve with an obvious +2 that wasn't marked, your solve will retroactively be +2'd, I assume. If you had a solve with a cube that was 46 degrees off, I'm guessing the original "no +2" ruling will stand.
  • If there are no issues with the WCA regs and you're not posting the video because you're dissatisfied with the quality of the footage, the community would much rather see a mediocre video proving that your record is legitimate than not have a video and have to wonder. Please post it.
Of course, Lucas isn't obligated to listen to any of this. He doesn't owe us a video. But if he's unsure if he can post the video without losing the NAR, maybe this will help clear things up. More reg-related gray areas than this could come up, but this list is a good start.

I'm not sure how the other posters are seeing things, but it seems a bit like the verdict has already been made. Hiding procedural errors is just one of many possible reasons that he hasn't uploaded a video.
That's it. Just wanted to insert the voice of doubt amongst those currently considering the worst

He told me he wasn't planning to upload. I know there was an issue where the last solve used a scramble from the next heat, but I don't see why that would change anything due to current precedents.

Just did. But I'm willing to bet he'll ignore it. He does this when I text him about it, and changes the subject when I talk to him about it.

Why would he hide something? He will get NAR again in the future, so who would care about one single DNF or something?
That's how I thought about my 1.42 misscramble 2x2 NR. Just admitted it right away, because I couldn't sleep when I noticed the problem on my video.
I am confused...
EDIT: He uploaded faster than I wrote that :-D

why do ppl think his average is illegitimate? Lucas is a great cube solver and deserves this NAR. Again theres nothing that WCA can do to stop him...

Well it's a lot harder for him because (let's say he is hiding something) at this point if he tells the truth, he'll be called a liar because he held it back a month already. So, IF he has been hiding something (and "if" is key), then he basically has dug himself into a ditch.

So let's promise him that we won't criticize him if he uploads it. Because it's better than hiding it forever. [emoji1] We should respect him for telling the truth late so that others learn not to be afraid to tell the truth. [emoji14]

But again, I ain't saying he did anything bad. If anything, I bet he's hiding something that won't change any of his times, based on previous decisions (like a misscramble).

Let's hope so ;)
