No disrespect meant and I'm certainly not trying to start anything, but I heard a rumor that there was an issue with one of his solves that could possibly void his avg. Of course to avoid analysis of his solves and prevent possible disqualification, he'd rather not post the video.

I was actually thinking the same thing. But who wouldnt do the same?

Oh my... That actually could be a reason. But of course not for sure.

In my opinion, this is was bound to happen when the WCA started punishing people based on private video evidence.

As with your 2x2 wrs, it is debatable. He is definitely deserving of the NAR, just like you and the WRs. My guess is that his incident is either a mis-sramble or overinspection (like Chris' former 2x2 wr). If it was something out of his control, he does deserve it and should post the vid. If he could have prevented the rumoured incident, then maybe he shouldnt.

edit:

its not private if its posted PUBLICLY on youtube...

Clearly you misunderstand. By a "private video," I mean a video recorded and owned by anyone who's not the Board. Neither Lucas nor YouTube are the Board.

If these rumors are correct, that would be really funny, in my opinion.

The board's goal is to make the best decision based on the evidence presented. If Lucas chooses to post the vid, then it is another piece of evidence they can use. What would be really weird is if the board asked to see the video.

No one would be as honest as you were ;) (I'm not saying anything against Lucas though)
Well it's a lot harder for him because (let's say he is hiding something) at this point if he tells the truth, he'll be called a liar because he held it back a month already. So, IF he has been hiding something (and "if" is key), then he basically has dug himself into a ditch.

So let's promise him that we won't criticize him if he uploads it. Because it's better than hiding it forever. [emoji1] We should respect him for telling the truth late so that others learn not to be afraid to tell the truth. [emoji14]

But again, I ain't saying he did anything bad. If anything, I bet he's hiding something that won't change any of his times, based on previous decisions (like a misscramble).

If Lucas isn't posting the video because he's afraid of getting the average disqualified, it's for a reason that does change his times. The precedent has been set that solves with issues that don't directely affect times, like misscrambles, remain. Feliks's 6.88 OH solve makes that pretty set in stone; the WCA can't reasonably make a decision in an identical circumstance with the opposite outcome. To disqualify Lucas's average, They'd have to retroactively disqualify Feliks's 6.88 as well.

Well, he has told me before that he hasn't read the regs. So idk. He might not know if he's okay or not so doesn't want to risk it. And he doesn't really follow speedsolving, so I doubt he'll see posts here talking about how a misscramble is okay.

Knowing that you and lucas are friends, I would have expected him to tell you what happened.
