I recorded this 7x7 solve today, and it is my second best solve. However, I am still looking to improve and get faster.

Does anybody have any tips for me specifically?
My average solve breakdown is as follows:
Centres- ~3 minutes
Edges- ~2.5-3 minutes
3x3- ~1/2 minute

Thanks,
Myachii

1. Don't use your fingers to turn middle slices, use your wrists (see 1:40). What I mean is basically turn two layers 180 degrees, then turn one layer back 180 degrees.

2. Turn slower on centers. It seems counter productive, but you turn really fast and then pause for a long time. Turning slower will let you see further ahead and find pieces.

3. Turn slower on edges. See above.

I have the same cube as you, so that isn't a limiting factor....also, take a few days off of 7x7 and practice other cubes like 3x3 and then come back. Sometimes, you are faster. Just be patient!

I think the best way to get faster at 7x7 is to practise 5x5 as well as 7x7, as many of the skills are shared between these two events

5x5 is my main event, and I average around 1:55. I'm looking to get around 1:45 average in a few months

Thanks for all the advice guys!
I'm getting my 7x7 solves down to a solid 6 minute average, and I recently got a sub-3:45 6x6 single officially, so I'm overjoyed :D

I'll keep on practicing, and with any luck I'll be down to sub-5 on 7x7 and sub-3:30 on 6x6 :D
