[Official] Nathan Soria DNF(1.71) Skewb Single

Yeah, the situation with pyraminx is what is most ridiculous to me...

I mean current WR isn't even possible state to get with current regulations. Unfair. Not good. Pls change it.

Yea. Just saw the vid on the Pyra WR and... 6 Moves. So why shouldn't the Skewb single be a WR? I mean, the difficulty isn't all that different, is it?

That wasn't my point...

Obviously you can't compare the movecounts of different puzzles directly to each other.
My point was that Pyra WR is 6 moves and current regulations say that Pyra scramble must be at least 7 moves. And that is unfair since WR was done on a scramble that is shorter than the shortest allowed scrambles currently are.

On topic of this thread:
Obviously this can't be WR because the scramble was shorter than the current regulations say it can be. That is unfortunate because competitor didn't do anything wrong yet he loses a good solve... I have discussed this same topic before in few occasions with many people on the forum but no-one has been able to come up with good solution to this problem IMO (the problem of misscrambles I mean...)

This is very unfortunate, especially for the competitor who will probably have an excellent solve taken away. Not sure how they could fix this problem, maybe scrambling more than 1 cube with the given scramble would help. At least then they could look to make sure that both the cubes we scrambled the exact same, if they were different you would know that something wasn't done right. I never really knew there was limits on the number of moves that had to be made, and I definitely didn't know that the pyra WR was made with a scramble that allowed less moves than what is now required. This doesn't make sense to me at all. This whole situation is quite unfortunate.

If they were scrambling from the PDFs that TNoodle produces, it actually gives a picture of the final state that the scramblers are supposed to check each cube against. But in a rushed environment where you're trying to get the cubes out as quickly as possible, not everyone is going to check the cube every single time.

Anyway, I think it's equally possible that the last turn could have happened accidentally inside the box while the cube was being carried to the table.

Ahhh, I didn't know that they already had the means to check a scramble. I guess it wasn't either checked or like you said it happened in the box after or while it was being covered. Either way its too bad.

I don't want to upload it until a decision has been made, that way outside influences don't affect. It will be uploaded tho.
Okay that seems fair.
Although Pyra single was a six move solution, it was in a time where the regulations were different, and it can't be revoked because of a change in regulations.

Whatever happens regarding this potential WR, we should leave Pyra single out of this.

I see what you are saying. Maybe keeping a physical cube as reference for scrambling would help, because like my eyes got really tired from scrambling the whole day and constantly referring to a screen with small pictures. Maybe this will be implemented and it will minimize the chance of someone falling into the same situation as me :)

But not everyone has the same color scheme :p Well, I guess that's a problem with scramble pictures too.

Oh yeah, and you'd actually need one cube per scramble (since you don't just do all the first scrambles, then all the second scrambles, etc), so at least 5, or more if you have multiple groups at once.
