[NAR] Rami Sbahi - 3.49 Skewb Average

Video is here!:

Oh, hey, I got it back! :D I'm decently happy about these, but there are quite a few signs of improvement. Lockups were definitely there, and so were recognition problems. I hope to get sub-3 by the end of the year. Hopefully I will know full advanced by then. Also, for those wondering, that 2.60 had an 8 move LL, so it was good because of that. The layer wasn't very good.

Thanks to Philip Lewicki for footage for my solve that I didn't hit the record button!: youtube.com/lazer0monkey Subscribe to him! ;D

Cube: MoYu w/ LanLan springs for ball bearings.

Method: The bridge between Sarah's Intermediate and Advanced.

I've felt slightly guilty about this, but I actually don't even know if this is good or not. Here is the full video of my 2.60 single in this average:

I believe the cube never went over 60 degrees. But I can't be 100% sure about that. I remember thinking in the solve, "Oh, crap. I hope that was good." I'll feel no sense of guilt if the WCA can approve that this is okay. :)

I don't get it. It's clearly solved.

I don't get it. It's clearly solved.

he's saying that when he picked it up to inspect, it turned slightly and then he restored it. But I don't think the turn was more than 60 degrees, in which case it doesn't count as a move
Similar to Drew Brads' DNF pyraminx solve at US Nats which prevented the WR

EDIT: I'm not checking each frame individually, but I think this is the farthest it goes:

The red center sticker and yellow corner sticker should match up. I think he's good

Haha, so do you think it's good?

EDIT: By the way, it's completely ironic that I don't have the GoPro footage for that solve. It just happened to not be recording on that one. :|

OK, so I'm going to make this statement not because I got my 1.71 taken away (Just if you think that its related) Right when you picked up the cube, it looked like it went over the line, not sure how to say it (It looked like it went over the line where its considered a +2) I don't know for sure, just watch it over again. Would it still be NAR if the 2.60 gets DNF'd? Im too lazy to do the calculations :P

lol so ironic!!!!!

Dude, you can look at the video. The red light from my GoPro clearly wasn't on. I hope you do realize that it is a complete coincidence that this occurred. And yes, you would be able to see it if it was on. You can see the blue light (the wifi signal) is on, but not the red.

EDIT: Do you have a screenshot, Nathan? I would like to see that. :)

I think he's saying that just because you didn't use the word "ironic" properly, not because he thinks you intentionally tried to hide evidence.

Wait, how should I have said it?

I think that's characterized by a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result. You'd expect the GoPro to be recording, but it wasn't.
