Okay, at first I was not really impressed. But after 20 solves or so this cube become so much smoother. It is definatly an improvement to V1.

I purchased mine in a DIYKit from Thecubicle.us

It arrived Saturday, August 24th (Yesterday)

My first impressions of this cube are pretty freakin' awesome. It has that matte/scratchy and swooshy feel that all Shuangrens have out of the box, and amazing flexibility with corner cutting ability, as was expected. The only problem that I have so far is that this thing is WAY too fast. While the V1 was fast and controllable, I have found the V2 VERY hard to control. As a consequence, my times have been pretty poor with this cube, but I will keep at it and see if they improve. If worse comes to worse, I will apply some more lube to slow the thing down. Even with the control issue, I REALLY enjoy playing with this cube.

TL;DR: Uncontrollable, but absolutely incredible in every other way. Would reccomend.

FangShi v2 diy kit from wall buys

When I first got the package everything seemed in order. I assembled it and everything it turned really well. It had a really scratchy feeling to it that I've goes away with time. The corner cutting is really good. Cut 45 easy and reverse cut a full cubie. The only downsize is that over time it's starting to get really hard to turn. At this point its like turning a rubiks brand. Please note that this is without lube. It might be just something wrong with the my specific package maybe something with the core, but friends have one and its amazing. The stickers were decent; not my preferred shades but still look really good. I particularly like their logo nice and classy. fangshi.jpg Yea I thought I would use a pic before I butcher the stickering

I HATE this cube. This is by far the worst cube I have ever used. I cant stand this damn thing. It is not the functionality but the feel. It has a cheap feelings when turning similar to rubbing two pieces of cardboard or sandpaper together. It litter ally gives me chills to use it. It is like nails on a chalkboard. Some people might like the sandy scratchy feel but to me it is just horrible and deemsthis cube unusable to me. I would take a Rubik's brand over this cube.

That feeling goes away after breaking in and lubricating.

You are a very, very opinionated person.

Do 10,000 solves on it. Report back with results.

Amazing cube, i've encoutered one only problem, with the DIY version i can't tension it to cut 45°... Max 30°

Same here...
but you probably wont need to corner cut so much....
unless you are no where near accurate

Yes you're right, i think i use max 25-30 degree but the fact is that in EVERY video it cuts 45-50 degree and mine "only" 1 half? :/

This is my review on the Funs Puzzle Frosted Blade Version 2, better known as the Fangshi ShuangRen V2:

I got this cube in January from the Cubicle. (in a DIY kit version)

Its very scratchy out of the box and is smooth yet slightly scratchy after 500 solves. It is not an unpleasant scratchiness,
In fact it is a feeling I enjoy very much.

Corner cutting is the cube's only weak point, it can cut 45 at a very specific tension with some force, but can cut line to line fairly easily.
Reverse is 2/3 of a cubie. 3.5 of 5

My cube has never came close to popping even when trying to pop it. It might pop on really loose tensions, but it would be too loose to put
the caps on. 5 of 5

I do get small catches here and there, but its not a major problem for me. lockups don't happen. 4.5 of 5

The cube is fast, though not crazy fast. (4 of 5) It is also fairly controllable, as a 21 second solver I have no problems controlling it. someone
over 30 should also have no issue controlling it. (5 of 5)

This thing does have corner twists occasionally. The hardware is very high quality, though the core I received was defective.
I don't know what the stock stickers look like as I applied my own set to the cube (from what I've seen they don,t look that great).
the plastic feels a bit cheap, but seems to be pretty good. The center caps are secured on very well. bonus points 2.5 of 5

total score 24.5 of 30 Grade B+/A- Recommendation: yes

I do recommend this cube as its my main atm. However, Fangshi has just released a successor to this cube called the Guangying.
So you may want to look into that one instead.

I purchased this cube recently from Hknowstore and I thoroughly enjoy it. It is my main cube atm, and I have nothing bad to say about this cube. I can see how some say that it is very fast and almost seems uncontrollable, but once you are used to the speed, you can control it and it gives you a smoother solve overall.

I love my FangShi Shuang Ren II, and I don't regret my purchase one bit. I'm very much looking forward to the GuangYing when it comes in.
