Just not a huge fan of this cube. When I first got it I really liked it because it was the polar opposite in feel from my AoLong V2. Since then, I've acquired several more 3x3's and the ShuangRen just isn't cutting it amongst the pack. The mechanism is interesting with the multi-piece centers, and the weight saving cutouts in all the pieces. However, the super light sandy feel is probably my least favorite type of turning feel. To me it makes the puzzle feel cheap.
I only just recently took it apart to set it up properly hoping I would like it more, but after messing with the tensions I found that there is only a very small sweet spot. Any other setting is too loose or too catchy. That brings me to the next issue, the catching. This cube feels like it will explode unless the tensions are fairly tight, at which setting the cube is very sensitive to internal catches. It might be my turning style, but I just have a tough time blowing through algorithms on this cube. My newer cubes are much more forgiving.
Finally, my biggest complaint for this cube is the stickers. I know you can swap stickers fairly easily but based on turning and feel I knew this wouldn't be my main so why bother re-stickering? The green is super dark, the yellow is more gold than anything, and the orange would pass as brown any day of the week. Just awful shades. Not to mention, the placement was pretty bad too.
All that said, I still consider it a decent cube. If you prefer light, airy, sandy cubes then it might be the perfect fit for you, especially if you are a clean turner and don't mind changing out the stickers.
