I've been experimenting with the method above and other approaches to applying ZZ to solving the 4x4. Not having much luck in terms of speed but I'm positive there is an efficient method of solving leading up to an alreadysolved EOline and ZZF2L. Right now I'm messing around with Yau's method but replacing the cross with EOline and any two oriented dedges, finish centres, 3-2-3 edge pairing and EO - ZZF2L.
I'm curious to how other ZZ cubers approach the 4x4 and big cubes in general.
