ZZ brag (unrelated tips appreciated!)

The best advice I could give you would be that if you actually want to use ZZ stop solving F2L like CFOP. asmallkitten has good walkthroughs on his YT channel in which he shows how he solves F2L using blockbuilding, I would recommend for you to watch those.

Some of your claims just seem really weird, and your story is very hard to believe. People have a right to be skeptical of people just claiming to be world class in several events if they have no evidence to back it up.

I wish you the best of luck with ZZ if you are actually learning it, whether you are at world-class speeds or not.

Sorry for saying this but your story is kinda hard to believe. I hope you deliver with some videos soon.

I'm not al3x, but since I actually generated some of these a while back (haven't actually learned them due to laziness, but generated them anyway), here, in case they're actually useful to you/better than what you have. I don't know if these can be found elsewhere because the only place I've ever looked was the wiki database (still waiting for algdb to add ZBLL), and even that was a few months ago.

Second one: R' L U L2 U2 R U' R' U2 R L2 U2 L' (U') (R' L can be done as x' M')

Third one: x' M' U L2 U R2 (U' D2) L U L2 D2 R' L2 (U)

Fourth one: (U) L U2 R' U2 [R2 D2 (R' U R) D2 R2] U M

Thanks, honestly I don't really like any of them apart from the first one :(. It's probably also decent for OH I reckon :p
The others have too many regrips, I just can't do them fast. (Can't get below 2 seconds)

COLL is solving just the corners if all the edges are permuted, right..? that's my understanding of it...so it is included in ZBLL algs because in some ZBLL cases all the edges are permuted and therefore it's a COLL

right?

COLL is solving the corners without worrying about edge permutation and it preserves edge orientation. EPLL is used after COLL to permute the edges. But yes, it is included in ZBLL either way. Rather than learning ZBLL by the edge case (like you would if it did preserve edge permutation) you will want to learn it by the orientation case if you learn COLL first. The cases are also normally organized by corner orientation anyway though.

al3x, ZZ isn't ever going to be better than or even as good as CFOP if you solve f2L like CFOP. If you want to get better at ZZ you should solve blocks. For doing the EO line, learn to do just the orientation well first. When you start trying to plan the line with inspection too, do the same thing you would do to do just the EO, but influence the position of the DF and DB edges by doing F/F' and B/B' in the most advantageous direction. Also, getting times that high on EO line makes it sound like you are not fully inspecting the EO line before you start. Go ahead and plan the whole EO line before you start even if it takes more than the 15 seconds.

I can do the last one regripless (depending on where my hand is for L)... except since I don't use these in solves, I have no idea how they hold up to speed..
I just generated them because I thought the wiki one(s) sucked. What do you normally use?

Sorry, I've been quite busy with school. I will be posting videos when I get a chance, as I don't really care if people believe my times or not.
MusicalBoy2, for zbll, all of the wiki algs can be sub 2 with 2H. I'm a bad OH solver (barely sub 15), so I can't really say how well it is for that.

What methods do you use for blindfolded? Also, I'm not saying I don't believe you, but if you're not as fast as you say you are, you can tell us, it's fine. No one (hopefully) will think any less of you if you're a 15 sec solver or a 20 sec solver. Or even a 30 sec solver.

(y) L' U2 L U2 L F' L' U' L' U2 L U L' U2 L U F
L F2' L' U2 L' U2 L F2' U L' U' L U L' U L
F' L' U' L' U2 L U L' U L U2 L U2 L' U L U F
(y') R' U' R U' R' U R U' B2 R' U2 R U2 R B2 R' or B U L U L' U2 L U2 L U L' U L U2 L' U' L' B' or (y') R U2 R' U2 R' F R U R U2 R' U' R U2 R' U' F'

Bear in mind I prefer LFU over RFU, so you might want to mirror these algorithms. They are long, but quite fast for me. They "feel" more reliable than other algs I've learnt for these cases.

I use ZBLD 3-cycle for bld solving. And I'm not trying to claim fame or glory with my times, and I don't care if people believe them. I'm trying to learn a new method, not prove myself. Ignore my times if you have to.

Just post an avg of 5, or just one sub7 solve as you claim, and everything will be ok :D

If you can't handle the repeated irrelevant comments, ask mods to close this thread, and post your specific ZZ questions in the ZZ Home Thread. As a general rule, the users that frequent that thread are more versed in your newfound area of interest.

Honestly, people would be more interested in giving you advice if you either posted an avg5/12 that was somewhat close to the times you've been claiming with ZB, or if you just admitted you're full of **** and new here. Don't dig yourself a deeper hole than you need to.

Should I just put my bests in my signature? I see a lot of people doing that. But anyway,
2x2 (Dayan) 1/3/5/12 - 0.56 (Lucky) / 1.28 / 1.50 / 2.34
3x3 (Aolong) 1/3/5/12/100 - 4.56 (Lucky) / 5.96 / 6.47 / 7.12 / 8.10
4x4 (AoSu) 1/3/5/12 - 23.43 / 26.76 / 28.22 / 30.43
3x3 BLD 1/3/5 - 24.22 (Lucky) / 28.22 / 31.43
Not as good as I would like, but I've improved a lot in the last 4 years (since when I signed up here)
In terms of ZZ, the biggest part of my time comes from recognising eo, fixing it, and then creating a line without wasting a ton of moves in the process. In trying to be efficient and optimal, I end up messing up a lot . I solve the f2l in 2-3 sec, and all in about the same. I'm just having loads of trouble with eoline. I'll get a video up asap! In the meantime, do you have any tips? I've watched a few of your videos on eoline, if that helps!
I use ZBLD 3-cycle for bld solving.

From wiki:
Scramble: F D2 L' B2 L2 U' R2 U' F' D B2 D' R' B R D' R U2 L U' L2 R D' R' B2
On the U layer, both UFL and UBL need a CCW twist, and DBL and DBR need a CW twist.

Orient Edges:
S2, D', x, M', U, M', U, M', U, M' U, M, U, M, U, M, U, M, U, x', D, S2
Y', R, U, x, M', U, M', U, M', U2, M, U, M, U, M, U2, x', U', R', Y

etc...

So you have incredible difficulty with EO despite the fact that you claim to use ZBLD for BLD which involves EO for the first step? Yet you average roughly 30 seconds for BLD?

I can manage Eo fine. Its optimising the line and eo together, and trying to be completely color neutral that's giving me trouble. With bld, all I need is bad and good. No colours, no line

Edit for clarity ; my EO is fine alone. In combination with line I mess up a lot.

This actually does make sense...I recently started learning ZZ and it is hard to not make mistakes with EO line.

It's pretty ridiculous that everyone is hounding him for a video. If it bothers you that much, you should just assume that he's lying and leave the thread.

Well I'd just like to see ZB used in every solve, and confirmation as to whether this guy can do it or not would be nice.
But otherwise, I'm not personally bothered either way :)
