Yuxin Stackmat timer compatibility

I see a lot of people with their timers connected to their computers / laptops / etc, but it's mostly PCs. I have a mac, and the input/output jack is a combined 1/8th inch jack. It auto adapts to accept an input or output, but how compatible would the yuxin timer be, and would I need a male to male combined cable to go with it?
