[Unofficial] Yu Nakajima 5x5x5 1:49 on V-cube

He's better than you get over it. You're no better than those Youtube idiots if you think everyone better than you has no social life.

Haha, right on.

hmmm where I sad that he has no social life ? :> I only said that his cubing is more than social life :*

and saying that he is cubing only for 2 hours a day i HUGE LIE dont you see that ? sorry in 2 months he is down to 1:49 from 2:18 ;/? in 5x5 on that lvl is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery hard and he was also solving any other puzzles

all in all talk what you want to talk i want reply any of your defensive comments :*

and officially Yu never compete in 5x5 so dont say that he is better than anyone in 5x5 :)

Attention WCA we need more events!!

The ending part was to probably to tell us he's gonna make a 6x6 and 7x7 solve video. On one of his BLD videos there was about 10 seconds when he's just sitting at his desk staring at his cube or whatever.

Guys, 1:49 is pretty horrible. I mean, it's really not good at all. And just because he's faster than you doesn't mean you have to worship him. Of course he's going to be faster, he turns crazy fast, and has decent lookahead. His style is exactly the same on every cube, and it's not hard to predict he'll be decent. Woopty Freakin' Doo he's yu nakajima... get over it.

I sense a little hostility Dan.

I have no hostility towards Nakajima, I have hostility towards every person who thinks everything he does is fast. I personally don't if he gets faster, but if you guys want, I'll get a video of a sub 1:30 and most people won't even care. The "godliness" that Yu has gotten from people is so unsupported that cringe every time someone says something about his times. I don't subscribe to his youtube, and that's because I couldn't care less what his times are like at home.

You mean like that time when Michael posted his 1:18 avg of 5 5x5 solve on hi games video? (Actually people did care, it's just not many people are exposed to it). Sometimes, people just use Nakajima as a "standard", whatever time he gets, people assume that's the "best" time. They just haven't been exposed to other amazing cubers (for *some* reason). But, I'm sure he will get faster...

Man, every video that is posted here about Yu gets all these cut-downs about it. Yu didn't even post these, so you guys shouldn't give him any grief. He is simply posting videos of his solves on his Youtube account, he never said he was god or anything. Yes, new people to cubing think he is, which is fine, and understandable. Let people think what they want.

Also, 2 hours a day for 2 months I think is plenty to get down sub-2. I am not there yet, so I'm not positive, but that is my guess.

yeah, i agree with pjk...dan, u seem to be pretty intent on going to all of the videos of nakajima on speedsolving.com and complaining about all the people who are "worshipping" him. so what if they see him as an idol? it shouldnt affect you at all. its not very nice to say how 1:49 is pretty horrible, i mean u dont see him talking about how ur 3x3 is terrible compared to him. people wouldnt respect him so much if he wasnt good at what he did so you should just accept that.

also, pjk... 2hrs a day for 2 months for sub 2 O_o thats pretty good.

Again, my beef isn't with Nakajima at all. I'm actually saying that he's an amazing cuber, and that it's expected for him to get fast. I just don't see why we need to post every single vid Nakajima puts on youtube, with exactly the same reactions. Half the people are "OMG HE's F'n AMAZING" and then others really couldn't care less.

@Harris, I agree, this is sort of like Michael's video, but it's not just that. For some reason, people think whatever Nakajima does is amazing. It doesn't seem to matter how good he is relative to others, it's just that he's the only person in the world who matters. Getting a 1:49 single solve doesn't even put him close to the WR times, which is why I don't see why people are going nuts over this.

Getting sub-2 isn't hard when you are already insanely fast at 3x3. He obviously has the skill as a cuber, and just needed to really pick up a 5x5... It's not like most people (at least me) who started 5x5 when they were still not that good at 3x3. 5x5 is all about not having delays, and it looks like Nakajima is getting better at that. Hopefully I can stay ahead of him, but I can't wait for him to be averaging 1:35, it'll give me more of an excuse to practice...

60ish days, so 120 hours. maybe 15-20 solves an hour [factoring in scrambling and breaks] = something like 1800-2400 solves? and thats assuming he spent 2 hours solely on the 5x5x5 everyday. Thats more than enough practice, no?
