[Unofficial] Yu Nakajima: 3x3x3 etc... Cubing for the first time in 3 months

I think I'm more well rounded then both of them ( I have more continental records than those 2 combined <_< (in a legitimate continent.))

--EDIT--

I'm actually 1 record short of this :(

He looks so uninterested. There was no enthusiasm in that at all. It's really sad that he's quitting, it'll be a great loss for the cubing community. Hopefully he'll enjoy himself at the Japan Open..

I can remember reading somewhere on this forum that Yu learned all of Fridrich in two weeks. Can anyone confirm this? Also, does anyone know how long he's been cubing?

On the old Cutex website, cubingtechniques.com, he had a list of big accomplishments for him.

I used the Internet Wayback Machine to find it once, so I'll go look again.

07-05-19 Achieved sub13. (12.92 seconds)

07-07-12 Achieved sub11. (10.84 seconds)
07-07-28 Entered "Japan open 2007". Finished third (13.66 seconds). It was the first competition for me.
07-07-31 Started practice of One-handed.
07-08-13 Achieved sub50 of One-handed. (49.49 seconds)
07-08-18 Achieved sub40 of One-handed. (39.18 seconds)
07-08-31 Achieved sub30 of One-handed. (29.95 seconds)

It took him 2 months, not 2 weeks, which is still incredible. :)

Best (allround) speedcuber

It is very hard to decide who is the best speedcuber, especially with the statistics page still down....but that doesn't stop me from trying

Yu is very good at all the events he has ever competed in, but he isn't as allround as Dan and Erik. This is partly because in many Asian tournaments you cannot participate in all events

If we just look at 345 Erik is easily the best, followed by Yu, then Dan
If we look at 234567 (Yu hasn't done 2x2x2) Erik and Yu are equal and Dan is much closer (he just sucks at 3x3x3)

If we look at all the events Erik is still the best of these three.
If we look at the history of WR's Erik wins by a landslide

2 years ago this contest was between Mátyás and Erik. Mátyás beat Erik mostly because of blind. I guess that makes Erik the best allround cuber for years now.

If we would look just at 3x3x3 it would be very easy as well:
http://www.worldcubeassociation.org...onId=&years=&show=100+Results&average=Average
clearly puts Tomasz at the nr. 1 position (and 5/6/7), Yumu at 2 and Erik at 3 (and 4/8/9)

I would still consider Yu Nakajima as one of the favorites for Worlds 2009. Especially because he will be defending his title and can win a lot of money

What the hell? I've been cubing for almost 3 months and I'm still sup-30! How is this possible?

Dude.... that's normal. It took me like 5 months to get sub 30. Over a year and I'm only like 15-17 seconds :( He probably was very determined to get really fast at that time.
