Hello all

I'm thinking of starting my very own cubing-related YouTube channel! I've always wanted to start a channel and thought why not give it a go!

I was wondering if anyone could suggest some types of content that they may want to see or that there isn't enough of already. I was thinking of something along the lines of cool solving challenges or statistics videos. I don't have a mic at the moment so I probably won't be able to do any voiceovers or stuff like that for now however I'm still open to any ideas for the future.

Cheers to my fellow cubing enthusiasts!

Competition vlogs, learning new puzzles, and attempting challenges are all really good things to do for a cubing channel.

If you do blindfolded, maybe you could try ch2bld or something like that lol (find a weird cube and try to make a method yourself, also I'm making a tutorial if you do want to try it)
Another thing you can do is get a cube that you don't fully know how to solve and try figuring it out on your own.

This might help you in the right direction.
It's got a few idea generation methods as well as some prompts to help you work out what you want to do. There's a variety of niches within cubing and I would personally recommend experimenting a bit in your early stages to get a good idea of what you want to make, although I like how you've got a sub-niche in mind already.

In terms of what's not already out there, I would highly recommend consuming more cubing content. Usually when people aren't aware of whats missing in a niche it's because they haven't seen a large enough variety of content within that niche, so I would recommend exposing yourself to more cubing videos. Searching a cubing niche and sorting the results by date instead of YouTube pushing the most popular videos to the top would allow you to come across new channels and videos. Also its a good idea to try to find channels that are making content similar to what you plan on making for inspiration.

As for content that doesnt require a mic, whilst it does limit your options quite a bit, its not a dealbreaker but it will mean you'll have to work extra hard in editing to get your points across through text. Good luck.
