Yiheng Wang Stops Timers Early?

that video doesnt appear to show anything like what you indicated...
much less "likely" ¯\(°_o)/¯

it also appears to have perhaps been doctored as the time-speed seems to have been messed with (?)

But still, this is just people trying to get attention.
I can't believe people are this salty about a 7 year old destroying the WR and smashing their times. Grow up, people.
people are just jealous that's all. meanwhile, they're probably sitting at home, not counting their +2's.
No one is actually doing this for attention, nor are most people salty/jealous of Yiheng.

Already, multiple people I know (Antonio Kam, WRC Leader, and multiple WRC members) are working on this case.

They aren't doing this for attention, they're doing it because it's their job to investigate it, accidental or not.

You're the ones who need to grow up.

yeah i guess that's true, but the title of that video still sounds harsh imo

Including pickup and stops: For the 0.99 solve, I counted 28 frames = 0.933s; for the 1.26, 37 frames = 1.233s
I have a (unfortunate) considerable amount of experience with framecounting.
I'm not very confident with my frame-counting ability's but I counted more frames in the two solves than the video estimated plus usually the timer display is a few milliseconds behind the actual time but when he stops the timer it immediately stops instead of catching up.

This specific case aside, is there any way to detect this if someone did do it maliciously? Yiheng's hands are quite close to the timer - I can imagine doing something like this to intentionally get faster times. A less experienced judge (or maybe even an experience judge) would probably not pick up on it in the moment, and if you didn't film the solve (which is allowed), there would be no way of knowing what happened after the fact. Even if someone saw and reported it, it would just be one man's word against another's.

You are framecounting incorrectly, almost certainly. It's likely that your error is something like counting every single time you input "." which doesn't always update the frame on YT, for some reason. You have to count the frames.

When counting frames, for the 0.99 I counted 33 frames, and for the 1.26 I counted 39 frames.

33 frames = 33/30 = 1.10

39 frames= 39/30 = 1.30
