This thread is about X-cross.I have just becoming more interested about it,when i've seen few PRO cubers on the internet. What do you think can muchly increase your time, the x-cross or the normal cross?,what's the difference?
And where can I find the best tutorial for it?(just in your own opinion).
As now,i don't know how to do it but i know what is it.So i experimented something,that forming first the 2 edges(white cross),and doing F2L on between the 2 white edges-with the right F2L pairs.And it works!!,but i think it's not the x-cross,that i made.So what do you think

I dont know much but I think that depending on the case that you get you have to decide whether you want to do a X-Cross or a Normal Cross.

If you start using X-Cross always then you may try to get a X-Cross where a normal cross would have been much easier. So learn the concepts of this method.

What you mentioned as X-Cross is not X-Cross. In X-Cross you make the cross in such a way that by the time your cross is done you have already slotted in the first of the F2L pairs. So it is a simultaneous process of making a cross and inserting the first F2L pair.

I think I remember Chris Hardwick mentioning exactly this a few days ago around here as his method of practicing the x-cross.

i have a question about x-cross too.

what is the first thing/s you are trying to find that makes you decide if you will do an x-cross or not?..
1. an easy [probably one move?] cross edge and corner pair-up?
2. an already paired cross edge and corner?
3. consider the amount of moves to make a 1x2x2 block[two adjacent cross edges and a corner]?

It's hard to say in general. If you're just starting to use X-Cross, it will almost certainly be slower. But if you practise it a lot, in the long run it should be a bit faster than normal cross, at least in easy scrambles.

In my opinion, there's no need for a tutorial.

It would probably help if you practised solving first a 2x2x2 block and then adding the two cross edges. When you can do that well, try solving the whole X-Cross directly in one step.
